  1. It's possible for good players to play on bad teams. Calbert Cheaney's high school team, for example, has a losing record one of his seasons there, among many other examples that exist. Not surprisingly, you have provided no evidence why I should blame Pack's team records solely on him. So without that evidence, I'll stick with DeVries' assessment and the fancy numbers you don't understand. And thank YOU for playing.
  2. His advanced metrics, especially before last season when he apparently played hurt, seem to contradict your assessment of him.
  3. “Discuss” is exactly what I did. And again, things are moving “slow” compared to what? Compared to any school’s timeline that has ever done this before? No. Compared to unrealistic expectations of some people who apparently believe our timeline should be different from everyone who’s ever done this before? Perhaps so.
  4. My point was to lay out a few facts as to how DeVries went about a similar situation last year, to help people settle down. Much on the same timeline as May, Pope, and Kelsey last year (who all made the tournament by the way). You're welcome to work yourself up in a lather over a coach that's been here 2 weeks, though. As someone else commented in response to my post, I'm not one to blame the fanbase for the programs' failings. I've been around a long time and supported an underachieving program for a quarter century now, just like many others have. Most fans are beyond great. But I gotta tell ya, this board's response to not having a full staff and at least half a full roster when no facts or evidence suggests that is a realistic expectation makes this fanbase look very soft and emotionally fragile. Quite frankly, it is embarrassing. How about if we give the guy a chance. There, did I bash people on this board enough for ya this time?
  5. Yeah, anybody can look at how DeVries handled this last year and see how nutso it is that people think we should have a full staff and half a roster announced. His staff wasn’t complete for 3 months. The bulk of his roster signings came in mid to late April, with the star of the class signing May 1, and another in June. Christ, some of you are gonna need daily wellness visits by then.
  6. You said, repeatedly, extremely repeatedly, that Indiana wouldn’t get a head coach from a power 5 conference. You weren’t right.
  7. No, we have a fanbase that did nothing but ***** about dropping bags for kids who didn't want to be here. Now, we've had a coach for less than 2 weeks, one guy he probably thought wasn't good enough to overpay for goes somewhere else, and people lose their f'ing minds and want to drop bags again. I'm guessing Woodson and his family are realizing how fortunate they are to be rid of this nonsense.
  8. Actually, we were 19th in defensive efficiency that year. Probably the only really good defensive team Crean had here.
  9. That makes me more positive it’s Indiana
  10. Yes, they’re just not announcing them until the whole staff is done coaching their current teams and gets here.
  11. As to the strength of schedule, Kentucky is an SEC team, so they’re just a notch below the NFL. That should be great for our SOS. (joking, of course)
  12. So, after all the whining they did about tampering, they went and talked to a coach with a team still playing?
  13. It’s literally revenue sharing. Why wouldn’t you just calculate the percentage of revenue each sport brings in and divide the revenue-sharing pot accordingly? Am I missing something?
  14. Jimmy Dykes in the first quarter of the LSU-Florida State game: "Kim Mulkey is about to come out of her sequins over that call."
  15. There’s a really easy solution for people who want to root for a guy like Beard. You’re never going to be able to do it as a fan of Indiana University.
  16. There was a lot of smoke back then that Eric Gordon’s dad wanted Sampson to recruit him when Sampson got the job. Probably a more appropriate way to do it would have been to tell Eric to de-commit first. But it’s all water under the bridge now.
  17. Do you have any opinion or intel on why Dusty didn’t want the job this time?
  18. Not to turn this into an Archie thread, but I followed that program pretty closely back then, and the truth about it is really somewhere in between really good and stagnant. He struggled his first 2 1/2 years, low conference finish his second year and started the third year 1-5 in the league and the natives were getting restless. Then, mid-season, they miraculously turned it around and had the miracle Elite 8 run. After that Archie was certainly very good in conference. It should be noted that was right after Xavier and Butler left for the Big East, but he was still very good in league. Never was able to have another tournament run, though.
  19. I think we should be a modern program and put names on the jerseys all the time. And I’m an old guy.
  20. A couple questions for you about Dusty, if you don’t mind. Do you think Dusty signed the extension because we/he thought we had Brad? Do you think there’s any way we could have gotten Dusty?
  21. Is he one of the coaches Dolson reportedly talked to a few weeks ago?
  22. I have it all figured out. Dolson said he was going to follow the Cignetti model for hiring the basketball coach. The model was someone born in Pennsylvania in 1961. Jay Wright.
  23. You’d think he’d realize he doesn’t know anything by now, lol
