  1. Where does retaining Mike Roberts appear on the hot board?
  2. Only if you're inherently a pessimist.
  3. Not disagreeing with you, but I also think we're returning to an era when it is going to take something in addition to talent to be an Indiana player. For years, we have wanted players who play with passion and understand what it means to wear the Indiana jersey. Before the players can understand that, the coaches have to understand it. Now we have coaches who understand it. And I think the coaches will decide that not every talented player is necessarily a good fit as an Indiana player if they're not going to buy in.
  4. Or spring football practice...
  5. Jim Coyle tweeted it. I guess Coyle must have interviewed him.

  7. Khristian Lander's father: "I almost got emotional because I knew he was staying. I knew 5 minutes into the meeting (with Mike Woodson)." Wow.
  8. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but who is Cohen? Is it Adam Cohen with Stanford? Any idea what his ties to Woodson or IU are?
  9. Lying to kids doesn't work either. That's why there are over a thousand of them in the transfer portal.
  10. My expectation is that our guys that stay will shoot the ball at least somewhat better through both improved shooting form and improved confidence.
  11. I think a lot of people here need hugs. And prescription refills.
  12. That's my question. Maybe someone could start a separate thread for the depressing people or the ones who want to post what their "gut" says. :)
  13. Oh sorry, didn't read it that closely. I have my top 2 there, lol.
  14. 1. Brad Stevens 2. Billy Donovan 3. Chris Beard 4. Nate Oats 5. Eric Musselman 6. Scott Drew 7. "IU guy"
  15. Sure. He could have handled it the way Beard did. He could have handled it the way Nick Saban did (which is closer to what he actually did). At the end of the day, he's Brad Stevens, and he handled it the way Brad Stevens did. Not everybody's the same. Not everybody handles things the same way you would. Not everybody has the same motivations you would. So while I think landing Stevens is a long shot, what he says to the media is not a definitive answer until Indiana hires a coach and it's not him.
  16. I'm not saying Brad's coming to IU, but if he was thinking about it, he wouldn't answer the media's questions about it by saying, "we're in negotiations, and I'm considering it. I might actually coach here in Boston another 3 weeks and then leave." You understand that, right?
  17. I thought you asked a good question nonetheless.
  18. That's my thought....unless it's a back-up plan.
  19. I'm not infatuated with it at all. I'm not sure it's a good idea. But if IU is considering hiring a 68-year-old coach (which I also don't think is a good idea), everybody knows he won't be coaching very long. He'd almost have to have a coach-in-waiting for recruits to know. At least that's what I would think.
  20. Another rumor for the rumor mill....my wife works in a large (class 6A) Indiana high school, and the folks in the athletic department there believe the hire will be Beilein with Calbert as the coach-in-waiting. They have heard Beilein will coach 3 years and then turn the reins over to Calbert. I asked her who they heard this from and she has no idea. It kind of makes sense if they're considering Beilein, but I don't know....maybe they know something, maybe they don't.
  21. They don't seem to understand that howling at every tweet that the program is an embarrassment is an embarrassment to the program.
