  1. The swim team isn't hurting for NIL. It's thought they're a big spender by someone who would have an idea. Competing for the #1 recruit in 2027. They're up against Cal (home team, historically good team who finished #2 last season) and Texas (historically good, have Bob Bowman as the coach, defending champions, lots of money) so they might not get him but don't count out IU who has landed more elite distance and mid-distance swimmers recently. https://swimswam.com/1-ranked-luka-mijatovic-done-with-ncaa-recruiting-visits-just-has-one-hard-decision-to-make/ Edit: a little more on the recruitment. https://swimswam.com/analyzing-each-of-luka-mijatovics-potential-ncaa-landing-spots/
  2. I heard he will stay through at least next season since he has a new recruit who he says will help them win it all. The recruit's name is Brad Powers (no relation to Chad Powers). Interestingly, Brad Powers looks like he's in his 40s and has a strong resemblance to Tom Brady.
  3. There are also other ways to save on streaming services. T-Mobile pays for AppleTV+ and 1/2 of my Netflix subscription. I have the Disney/Hulu/HBO bundle you mentioned (now about $33/month). I get Peacock at $20/year with the Black Friday deal they have every year, and even if you miss that there are plenty of times were I see it on sale for $25/year. I subscribe to 247 which gets me access to premium peegs.com content also saving about $3/month on Paramount+ (the main reason I subscribe). In addition, some other things include streamer subscriptions to draw in customers. I think Walmart+ offers Paramount+. Some credit cards I think might also include subscriptions to various services. I believe other other major phone companies offer subscriptions as part of some of their plans, not just T-Mobile. I have seen some articles stating that some of the streaming companies are in talks to make more bundles, so I believe you are correct in saying that there will be more of those in the future.
  4. It could be worse, they could be on B1G+ which is more expensive while also being vastly inferior to peacock. B1G+ might be the worst deal in streaming TV.
  5. Who is Mr. Chuckles in the top left who just laughs and doesn't even speak until ~6 1/2 minutes into the video?
  6. The men land a 2027 recruit. Right now he looks like a depth piece with some versatility, but with 2 more years of development has time to really improve before stepping on campus. https://swimswam.com/indiana-lands-first-mens-2027-commitment-from-ncsa-summer-champs-finalist-jackson-edwards/
  7. IIRC, a few JMU fans said that when we hired Cignetti that he has a tendency to get conservative so the play calling in big games can be frustrating.
  8. I wonder if Urban will be like he was last season if IU is in the CFP picture again, as they probably will be. For much of the season Urban was talking about how good and well coached IU was similar to this. Then at the end of the season totally changed his tune where they weren't good enough.
  9. The women pick up a recruit: https://swimswam.com/summer-juniors-finalist-kate-fetters-staying-in-state-with-commitment-to-indiana-2027/ And another one flips: https://swimswam.com/philippine-national-jr-teamer-billie-blu-mondonedo-flips-commitment-from-indiana-to-arizona/ They have about the same times in the events they share, but Kate can also swim backstroke so maybe a bit more versatile.
  10. I expect the opposing coaches know this. It's just the fans that are now realizing it. I don't see a downside to be talked about since it can help with recruiting.
  11. Yep, they really like the way the offense looks.
  12. The peegs guys watched a practice today. They say that Sisley should play a big part in the rotation. They also said the defense is still struggling other than Conerway. The defense struggled against graduate assistant coaches and walk-ons. Yikes. It wasn't specified exactly how they struggled but since the article was talking about trying to pressure the ball without fouling, probably that. They have a little more than a month to get it figured out.
  13. It could be a sign that the athletic department isn't tuned in to the fanbase. They might really believe that it will sell out at these prices, like it probably would have 10+ years ago. They may not realize the damage the last 8 years have done, it particular the last 2, as far as enthusiasm and willingness to shell out a bunch of money for a meaningless game.
  14. Really? I hope Alberto sees time in every remaining game this season because IU is blowing the other team out.
  15. My understanding of the situation is that since he played HS ball in the US, he isn't eligible for the 2026 draft. I guess there is always the possibility that he sues to try to get into the draft, but as of now that seems to be the situation. He's playing pro ball but doing whatever it takes to maintain NCAA eligibility from what I've seen. I'm not sure how that works.
  16. Rabby says that he's heard from European scouts that Mikka has told people he plans to play in college for a year.
  17. The profit sharing is capped at a combined $20.5M per school for all sports. There is now an NIL clearinghouse which is supposed to make sure all the NIL deals are legit and somehow determine if they're at the proper market value. So a lot of schools are being cautious with NIL promises since they don't know if they'll be approved or rejected. Plus, they can no longer just give NIL money to someone for coming to play at the school which a lot of them seemed to be, it has to be a legit deal. Some of the donors at IU also seem to think that the rev share is bigger than what it is so that they don't need to donate as much.
  18. Here's the dual meet against Florida. You can also watch if you waste money on B1G+. https://swimswam.com/2025-florida-vs-indiana-dual-meet-season-opener-live-recap/ Edit for the results: Women: Florida wins 170-130 Men: IU wins 208-92 Some of the freshmen looked good for both the men and women. The times weren't great for either team but not surprising since it's the first meet of the season and they're probably practicing very hard right now. The men won by more than I expected but Josh Liendo didn't swim any individual races for Florida.
  19. Swimswam preseason team evaluations: https://swimswam.com/2026-college-swimming-previews-freshman-class-partially-offsets-key-losses-for-3-indiana-men/ https://swimswam.com/2026-college-swimming-previews-4-indiana-women-facing-huge-losses-after-historic-2025-season/ IU opens the season with a dual meet against another power house program, Florida. https://swimswam.com/indiana-hosts-florida-in-season-opener/
  20. The peegs guys are saying that the OV went very well. Both Ethan and his parents left feeling very impressed. They say the visit solidified IU as a legit contender to land him. IU might be helped by Davion Adkins being a strong Kansas lean.
  21. On the bright side, the comments about Purdue where even more blah than those about IU so he probably won't end up there.
