(2026) - PF Trey Thompson to Iowa

Rabjohns was asked the same question. His response was that at the same stage they are similar rebounders. Thompson is the better 3-point shooter and better off the bounce. Sisley was more rugged and physical. -

This might be a short recruitment. https://www.on3.com/teams/indiana-hoosiers/news/indiana-offers-2026-forward-trey-thompson-following-standout-weekend-on-adidas-3ssb-circuit/ Though Thompson had originally planned to make a decision in July or August, he told KSR+ that his timeline may be accelerating. “I think I’m going to speed it up a little bit and commit in May or June,” he said. “I’m not entirely sure yet. I really don’t know.” He has been recruited by Rod Clark for a year and a half so IU may have a chance. He does say that loyalty is important to him. Purdue has been recruiting him hard for a while though. He's planning on visiting Louisville and Tennessee in the next few weeks and wants to visit IU so it looks unlikely a decision will come before June. -

OV to IU June 13-14. -
IU has offered 6'8" PF Trey Thompson from Tennessee. Purdue has been on him for a while and may be the team to beat but he seems open to other schools and is still planning on visiting other places. Says he wants to visit IU. 247 Here's a nice highlight:

The more I see about his time at IU, the more the Woodson hire is just mind-bogglingly bad. He didn't think it was his job to recruit. He thought the assistant coaches were supposed to do all the recruiting and just bring him players. Kind of like how a professional GM makes the roster. Apparently, he said as much to one of his assistants saying something along the lines of "it's your job to bring me players."

DeVries reached out to him Saturday night. It's unclear if he was offered at that time or not but IU is at least looking at him. Rod Clark was previously recruiting him while at UT. Purdue might be the school to beat but it sounds like he's still open as far as his recruiting goes. He's planning on making visits to multiple schools this summer and fall. https://247sports.com/player/trey-thompson-46150811/

IU Mens/Womens Swimming and Diving
go iu bb replied to LIHoosier's topic in Other Indiana Hoosiers Athletics
That's huge. The distance group will be really good. What has been a weakness for IU will become a strength. They return Sarkany, already had Luke Ellis coming in, and now adding Whitlock. Then they have 2 really good distance swimmers coming in as part of the 2026 class. About the in-state recruiting, I hope it starts to trend better for IU than it has. There is a lot of swimming talent in the state and IU doesn't seem to get much of it, at least not many of the top end. Between this commitment and Shackell's, that might change. -
Trevor Andershock thinks he's the best shot blocker his class. Says he's quick off his feet and is a pretty good judge of when shots to go after. He says that in one of the AAU games today, the official stats gave him 7 blocks, but Andershock, college coaches, and the Indy Heat stat keepers gave him 10 or more and likely 12+.

I think he more sources with this staff than with Woodson, in the form of Adams and Johnson. People can believe him or not, it doesn't matter to me. I'm just passing on what he's saying because he definitely has more sources than most or all of this board. It's his job, after all. -

Rabby says that OV is a women's recruit. He also says that he's not feeling it with Hawthorne. -
I think you need to make a new account.

IU has offered 5* PF 6'9" Toni Bryant. Possibly waiting until spring before committing. 247 https://247sports.com/college/indiana/board/105672/contents/national-top10-2026-prospect-toni-bryant-receives-an-indiana-scholarship-offer-249932156/?page=1

(2027) - Ryan Hampton
go iu bb replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Younger brother of former 5* recruit RJ Hampton who skipped college altogether to play a year of professional ball in New Zealand. Rabby says that Rod Clark has known the family for years. He also says something about Clark knowing Jermaine O'Neal for years. O'Neal runs both his prep school and AAU team. It might be worth noting that SMU is recruiting Hampton. Hampton's dad played there and O'Neal Jr has committed to play there. We'll see if that matters or not. -

The argument there is that JUCO isn't under the NCAA. -

Was he the one trying to get time at D2 to not count against D1 eligibility? If so, then I'm glad he lost.
