Only one? That must have been rank.

And here I was thinking you went to college before the invention of radios and typewriters.

Apparently, he posted a screenshot over the summer of a conversation with his agent saying he wanted to leave Cincy but his agent told him he had to stay at that point. That's probably the "personal issue" the school referred to. He may have also not been getting along with at least 1 teammate publicly since he is said to have posted screenshots with one them last night.

IU Mens/Womens Swimming and Diving
go iu bb replied to LIHoosier's topic in Other Indiana Hoosiers Athletics
IU commits have a good showing on this list. It's really interesting to me how IU has shifted from distance swimming being a weakness to on the way to becoming Distance U with big time distance recruits coming in for both the men and women. https://swimswam.com/top-20-ncaa-swimming-recruits-in-the-girls-high-school-class-of-2026/ -
Woodson graduated in 1980 which is 45 years ago. I turn 48 next month and, while I was alive while Woodson was at IU, I was too young to remember him. Even someone born in 1975 (50 years old this year) would have been only 5 when he graduated and highly unlikely to remember him at all. If they did remember him, it would likely just be vague impressions.
-
I personally couldn't care less if he ever gets over it or not. I'm not old enough to remember him as a player so my only impressions of him are from his time as the coach. Needless to say, they are not positive impressions. So whether an arrogant, thin-skinned, unlikeable guy who should have never been hired in the first place and got a year longer than warranted gets over getting fired for the half-assed, low effort job he did gets over it or not doesn't matter to me at all.
-
I know it seemed to last forever, but Woodson was at IU for "only" 4 years, not 6.
-
That's at least 6 wins right there regardless of the outcome of the game. A 7th win if they beat Michigan.
-
I pretty much agree with you but there are some things that I took away from these games as things that can be expected when the real games begin: - The offense will look much different this year. 3s or close to the basket will be the shots they're trying to get. Very few long 2s. - The team has some heart. They could have easily folded but fought back from 20+ deficits in 2 games. - 4 of the starting positions are probably locked in as Bailey, DeVries, Wilkerson, and Conerway. But, yes, you can't really use these games to predict how they'll perform in the season, especially the B1G.
-
You don't foresee Ristic playing for the County Fair Community College Corndogs in the future?
-
Also keep in mind that the defense isn't where it needs to be yet. So some of the fouling could be either him or someone else not being where they should have been, basically things that will get worked on and corrected. I will say that he has averaged 2+ fouls per game every year and 2.4 per game the last 2 years so he does seem to be foul prone. Last season he fouled out of only 1 game but also had 6 games where he had 4 fouls, most of those in conference.
-
A good mix of game situations in the 3 games: - Blowout from start to finish without letting up - Down big early, come back to win in a blowout - Down big early, come back to win a close game in the last 10 seconds
-
Yep, preparing us for a team that will continue to play hard and won't give up. Adjustments will be made by the staff and players. It's good to know this in advance.

One thing I will take away from this is how this team responds to being down big early. Shots weren't falling, it sounds like they were getting manhandled down low, and they had foul trouble and it's just a meaningless exhibition game with very few fans there. I was actually glad that they were down like that because I wanted to know what they would do. The teams the last 8 years probably thrown in the towel and get blown out. These guys didn't. They not only found a way to stop the bleeding, they found a way to turn it into a blowout of their own. That kind of grit and confidence is something I think can be taken away from this trip. Now to see how the game goes on Monday, since the teams now have a bit of familiarity with each other.

IU is playing the WNBA All-Star team as a 4th game?
-
Trevor Andershock says that while Suigo is on the team, he's not expected to be there for the IU games. That's too bad, it would have been a nice chance for a little recruiting.
-
He did but I wouldn't pay too much attention to individual stats, good or bad. They were out enjoying activities like kayaking during the day, did no game prep, and Rabby says that after watching film the team was more like a D3 team than even NAIA. A good game is obviously better than a bad one but I don't think individual stats are telling in any way in these games.
-
Most of the points were through putbacks? He only recorded 3 rebounds and had 9 points from 3s so that doesn't seem likely. Regardless, it does sound like he played very hard. Effort and productivity will get PT.
-
Trevor Andershock before the game said they look like an NAIA team at best with IU having a big size advantage.
-
I'm more worried now. Apparently he doesn't take these totally meaningless exhibition games seriously enough.
-
Rabby is saying that he's being told by someone who knows him (Taylor) "very well" that IU has a better chance at landing Taylor than previously thought. He also just posted an interview with Taylor which was quite positive in regards to his statements about IU and the staff. Says that positive social media interaction with Taylor is a good thing. https://x.com/3thantaylor24

(2025) - C Andrej Acimovic to INDIANA
go iu bb replied to Hoosierfanyuh's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
This is incorrect. We got the 2 Euro players because of NIL/rev share. Without that, they likely would have stayed in Europe to earn money playing but coming to the US to play in college is now a path a lot more of them are looking at since they can make the same or more doing so.
