Rabby says that Josh Harris wants to come to IU but interpreting one of his typically vague posts, it sounds like IU might be waiting on some others before taking him. "Several things still to play out." A bit undersized for a center unless he's very athletic, which I haven't seen that he is. Can possibly play that position in a pinch, but it's not ideal. Not a done deal. Others have jumped in to the recruitment.

So it looks like Rabby thinks IU will add 2 more and save the final scholly for Goode. 1 of the 2 will likely be a big then the other maybe the guy from Greece (best available) or a freshman. Josh Harris has some decent stats and 3 years of eligibility. I wouldn't be upset at landing him, though I was hoping for another 4/5 guy and he doesn't look big enough for that.

Oh, I definitely didn't think he was Dallas James 2.0. I've read he has some injuries last year. I don't how much those had an effect on his PT since I don't follow Florida. His Per 40 rebounding and defensive stats are decent, even at UF so he does bring some good defense, which is nice to see. Other than close to the basket, it doesn't look like someone you want shooting going by his stats.

He didn't play a lot last year but there is a lot to be said about him coming from a championship winning team. Having that type of experience in the locker room is a good thing.

The 3 outgoing 3-star players looks even worse when you consider that there are 280 (!) 4-star players according to 247. It also reinforces how bad of a coach Mike Woodson is since 2 of those were 4-star HS recruits and the other was a 4-star transfer the year before. The individual rankings aren't always accurate and should be taken with a grain of salt but that's 3 players on one team. Newton had the injuries but those were from HS and I'm thinking the staff didn't look at it closely enough as part of the evaluation process which is on them. I look forward to a team that plays greater than the sum of its parts rather than less.

I don't feel for the kids being sued. They signed a contract then broke that contract. The bigger the contract amount, the more likely the other party will be upset by that contract being broken and retaliate. Welcome to the real world. I agree with the rest of what you said and I think the same. The question I have is whether a buyout will hold up in court if the players aren't employees.

NIL is about to get ugly with collectives/schools suing players for leaving. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out. In the article below, it's talking about some of them planning to sue some football players whose contracts included buyout clauses. To be clear, I probably should have said IU is trying to recruit him, as it's unclear how interested he is. Rabby said that IU is having conversations with him. I take that to mean recruiting. He is in the draft at this time and it's thought he has a huge upside though his stats so far aren't very impressive to me. It looks like some more time before the NBA would benefit him. Hopefully, he spends that time at IU.

Not really a transfer but Rabby says IU is recruiting Neoklis Avdalas of Greece, a 6'8" forward. He's considering college and the NBA draft.

People have been whining for years that the talent in college basketball wasn't what it used to be since any player who's good enough leaves early (as they should). I called it when NIL was first announced that some talent (2nd round/late 1st round) would stay in college because they'd make as much or more by doing so. That's what we're seeing. I don't see it as a bad thing.

I think it has to do with recruiting, so not related to Goode.
