Mizzou is crushing the Illini

Moren is an absolutely outstanding coach and leader of the Women’s program and she’s been building it. Right now the Women’s program is clearly ahead, Woodson is just heading into year 2. Can he build the program like she has and is? Way top early to know, but both as of now look to be in good hands

He's a fighter. Think he's just saying he's going to be back as soon as he can.

Dang it.

Wake still up on Duke by 8 and GT still up on UCONN

OG is an outstanding 2-way player, continues to play primarily as a role player with respect to scoring, but when asked to score he scores in the high 20s or more. He'd be a great fit on almost any team. That P's decision looks so bad, but have to remember he was coming out of IU with that torn ACL -- The Raps actually took a decently big risk on drafting him. He went from lottery level draft consideration to teams wondering how long it'd be before he could play.

Naah they were actually dropping F bombs at each other :)

Yeah, the drama stuff is to me just that. We played really badly ag KU and much of the AZ game but went 2-2 in those 4, we’ve looked strong and deep in several games, and we haven’t been at full strength, with 2 key players in JHS and X having injuries or being injured in those 2 bad losses. The Rutgers loss stings me more bc it was a weaker team that just beat us up bc of how our bigs play. sky’s not falling, we’ll be fine -
Yep. If only Sampson cared about academics and culture of IU's program, though. He is one of the best bball minds and on-floor X's and O's coaches out there. Had us at 24-4 when Sampson-gate broke. Obviously has raised UH to an elite bball program. And both the NCAA (was after Sampson bc he escaped them when they went after Okla) and our Administration overreacted to what were just phone call violations that the very next year were no longer even NCAA infractions. What a joke. But he left our academics in a bad mess and the drug culture and failing grades was completely out of control, yes he had to go, but man it's a shame, otherwise such a good coach. Davis wasn't at the level to coach IU, that was a player driven decision (and ultimatum) out of loyalty to him/RMK. That sums it up. Crean was a really good interim coach. Completely rebuilt the program after having to start walkons and baseball players. Don't think that gets enough credit, he landed Cody and Yogi, identified and brought in Vic, and took us to the longest #1 ranked team in the country, B1G championships (first in like 20 years) and SW16s. We didn't land the guy (like a Stevens or Donovan) who could have carried us forward to a consistent elite program again, but then just finding a good coach after the Sampson dismissal and dumpster fire that left the program in was a legitimately solid step. So the program made some bad decisions after RMK, maybe the Admin shouldn't have gone along with the players after his dismissal, but then not doing so also would've fanned the flames that were already there surrounding RMK's dismissal (I mean people not around at the time just can't understand how crazy that whole situation was) and itself created a dumpster fire with en masse player departures. The only really bad decision I see (my op) during this time was Miller, and that's also really just hindsight, he was well regarded at the time, and then the Admin did move on, as it should have, early when it was pretty clear he was not right for the U. Hope Woodson takes us up the next step of the ladder.

I don’t know our players so can’t really say but i’ve seen them play enough to see real competitors in most, but the slow starts are a concern and we look one dimensional, again, on offense. Double/triple team TJD and what happens? And Woodson is watching this and doesn’t make a change until we’re way down. That bothers me. So push the starters, make them re-earn those minutes (though Race showed up ag KU), but re-think how to adjust against teams like KU and Rutgers.

Don’t disagree on 2023, but you can’t just ignore who Woodson has already brought in looking at the direction. It started with excellent lands in JHS and Malik, and guys like Banks look like somewhat under the radar guys who are going to contribute well probably next season, and then there’s’24, and we’re in on some very good players, and staff is clearly trying to bring in 2-way players, not just scorers or plodding bigs etc. direction isn’t just 2023
