So NIU just won @ Washington 71-64, Washington was an 18-point favorite, NIU shot 52% from deep (12-23), with Hankerson, senior Guard, leading scoring at 28 including 6-11 from the arc.... Next highest was their senior F Crump (6'8) at 11 pts. So our guys will prob need to shut Hankerson down to get the kind of W we want, and maybe a tougher game than expected. I'm going IU - 67 NIU - 58 Want to see the team learn from the second-half letdown of last game - which really was a blowout until our guys let off the pedal and got complacent. Simple point you can’t draw any conclusions on one game of 1-4 shooting. It’s completely pointless, and calling it struggling is just lame, has no value at all

This. Bates and Geronimo both 15 min, both 2-5, Geronimo with 4 boards. They will both work their way into more playing time. disappointed that Rob fell off, started out really solid, was leading scoring at one point with 7 iirc. Hope he does get, and maintain his confidence, when plsying with confidence he looks good

Hunter went through a serious health condition, and lost a full year not just playing, practicing too, and whether he ever would play again at the level he was the summer before his injury was (maybe still is) a real question, but cam clearly held him back, he was starting to show but couldn’t under that crap that passed for cam’s offense. I’d bet on him raising his game this year, and if he does, good for him definitely wishing him health and good fortune!
