I don't (can't) expect consistency from JG, but what he showed against Wisconsin, playing the role of the athletic, attacking forward, without over-thinking -- attacking the rim and glass, sealing off with good positional play, showing clearly improved perimeter D (that really needs to be acknowledged, it was clearly better) and with limited TO's -- if he brings that kind of game on the road and going forward, it's a big boost to our chances. And the combo of Malik - JG played well together while TJD rested, that's big -- if it continues.

I tend to think Race will be back by then but no idea on X, that was a significantly different injury. But then I was flat out wrong on Galloway meeting his start-the-season timetable, so I'll just say X won't be back by then, so that he will. :)

And JHS has a little D Derozan game, that midrange that most have abandoned for the 3 or layup/dunk/floater. Yes the outside shot is better statistically in the abstract, but when a guy can create his shot like that (Kobe as the extreme examp) it further spreads the floor and opens lanes. And loved how he has the confidence and attacking nature to see him go off like that after starting 0-4 — keep attacking!

Going back and watching the game recorded, really liked the way the lineup with JG and Malik together (when TJD resting) in the 2d half played — that is the athletic and attacking front court I’ve been waiting to see - no letup when TJD (who was fantastic) sat.

Kidding aside that’s a nice setup. Our firm already has grinders and a coffee maker setup run straight through the under-sink plumbing — but it’s azz. It’s just terrible. Maybe you’ve inspired me here….

What’s mad cool here is that you could stack the coffee appliances vertically, so like you’re in space

We have, clearly, a top 25 defense, but we're missing X, just as clearly a key part of that, and now Race. That hurts.

Thanks for the further feedback. That just sucks. We're going to need JG, he has a great deal of promise and it's disconcerting that he'd still be as lost as you describe. He's had games where he's played very well, but can't find consistency.

You're really going out of your way here. Malik was, it appears, terrible in 6 minutes. Malik is going to be outstanding. It's interesting to me that someone can be so lost as you describe and have that strong of a box line.

Has to fit in defensively in Woodson's system. I have some issues with Woodson's decision-making, but I haven't seen play from Gunn to justify thinking he should be playing major minutes in B1G level play. We need guys who have the strength and demonstrated ability to play against the better college bigs. On the plus side, Woodson has been talking about shaking up lineups, he's gotten Bates playing more with increased offensive production, and Kopp's game has grown better than I thought it would.
