This kinda stuff worries me. Not about winning or team. Just showcasing.

We need this type of talent though. Like I say, I’m conflicted what to root for anymore, because we don’t have an identity that has proven to work.

Final thought. I want Watford because Justin Smith scares the bejesus out of me. I would root for him to overachieve and become a one and done.

SANTE FE, Rosario -- USA Basketball’s u16 team won a Gold Medal at the FIBA Americas last summer. This year they are on the hunt for the u17 World Cup crown, but they have a big addition to their roster.
    Enter 6-foot-9, 245-pound Isaiah Stewart.
“It’s been great,” Stewart said about the USA Basketball experience. “I’m getting to know these guys a little bit more every day. Before I came to camp I definitely knew them and talked to them before but being with these guys for two weeks, staying and living with these guys we definitely start to become a family.”
A bruising, physical and athletic post player, Stewart brings something different to the team. He’s known for his motor and rim running, but he’s also a terrific area rebounder and plays the role of enforcer in the paint. In the opening round demolishing of China, Stewart finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Although a highly touted prospect last year, Stewart has ramped things up and he thinks his growth as a player has been significant in that time frame.
“I’m evolving more,” Stewart said. “I’m getting quicker, more light on my feet and improving my jumpshot. Getting confidence and getting comfortable with that and also on defense. I especially feel like I got really better here.”
“There’s still some things that I have to work on but they really taught me how to stay on my feet and not to jump at everything,” he added. “I feel like I’m starting to really cement that into my game.”
While Stewart is focused on helping USA try to win a Gold Medal, he’s also in the midst of his recruiting process. At this stage, Stewart has 10 schools on his list – Duke, Georgetown, Indiana, Louisville, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Texas, Villanova and Washington.
“It’s definitely great,” he said. “Still at ten schools. Looking forward to cutting it down to five, taking my visits. It might be interesting. I spoke to my coach of course and he said that Kentucky might jump in the mix so it’ll be interesting to see what they do. Until then, I’m just focusing on learning more about schools, getting more deep into rosters and stuff like that.”
Would Kentucky jumping in the mix change anything?
“Of course it will because I definitely feel like cutting it down to five and they’re a school that’d be jumping in late,” he said. “I know about Kentucky and their program. I know it’s a great look but you never know who is the right fit.”
Of the schools involved with Stewart, Georgetown, Notre Dame and Villanova had assistant coaches watching him on Saturday in Argentina. Others are expected during the event.
Stewart recently took unofficial visits to Michigan State, Notre Dame and Indiana. Stewart, who currently ranks as the No. 7 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite, said the next step in his process is securing official visit dates, which he said he plans to do soon.

Yes, I do. He talks to scouts. Why lie about information like that?
I’m sure he does have 7 workouts or so. Robert Johnson has a few too, and he has no shot at getting to the league.
Like Wayne said, I’m sure they like Juwan. But even without Rabjohns info you can tell that Juwan’s game doesn’t currently translate to the NBA. If he could shoot it might be a different story

If he were, how do you explain him still having his job?   He runs an entire department; not just men's basketball; and with IU Sports Properties; Indiana is awash in cash.   His job is to maintain the brand; not "win in men's basketball."  Listen, nobody has to like this or believe I know what I'm talking about; I'm just telling you how it is.  The trustees of Indiana University and president of the University are not as concerned with winning as they are image and "the school."   There are now "enhanced dorms" on IUB's campus to attract east coast students and the money that comes with them.   NYC and Washington DC are in the top 5 hubs for IU alums.
If it were all about winning in Men's Basketball; Fred Glass would have been gone a long time ago.  It's NOT all about that.

    Lots of speculation.
My favorite though is they seem to be genuinely sanctimonious! How about this quote: "Another one we were on, but didn't get. Starting to see a pattern of guys Cal was after and either backed off, or shocked everyone by picking someone else. I think that alone is a strong indication Cal is not involved in paying recruits. At all." Poor Cal got beat out on a recruit by all those dirty guys.
No one can be that deluded, can they? Kentucky is THE poster child for the high-profile one and done recruit and they think it's Texas, Mich St and UNLV that are the bad guys? Like most issues with Kentucky, sad and pathetic.

I think there is a chance that this scandal really ruins College Basketball... I wouldn't be surprised if the G-League changes its rules so that HS Grads can enter. The NBA, as an organization, must hate the negative publicity associated with current players being called "dirty" and being accused of taking money from agents while in college. Severing ties with the NCAA would potentially fix this problem.

Pontiac Dan reacted to CrossboneIU22 in Late Season Optimism
For the first time in a long time I have a great deal of optimism at the end of the year and really wish we had another month of watching this team play.  There are many reasons for this and if you will allow me, I am going to address those in this post.
    1.  First and foremost, and it took a while this season, but we have seen a team get better game after game at the end of the year.  We didn't peak in January like most teams under CTC.  We don't look dejected, tired, and downright miserable in February like we have seen for the majority of the past 9 years.
    2. We have a better B1G record this year than last year with a less talented team.  I do not believe the B1G is as down as many believe, so that is up for debate here, but we have virtually the same team minus the 2 G-Leaguers and 1 NBA player and didn't gain near that talent.  Smith is playing well and Al has had a good game here and there but at this point, they are not at the same level but yet we still have a better league record and a similar overall record to this point.
    3.  We are playing great Defense.  Something we only saw one year under CTC and that was mainly due to Vic and Zeller.  A team that should have been to the Final 4.  Victor was great at getting steals and deflections which led to a lot of fast break points.
4a.  Half Court Offense is actually being ran and working to get good shots.
4b.  We can also beat a zone offensively.  We know where the ball needs to go and where to look once it gets there.  Our passing needs improvement to be much more effective in this area but that will come in future seasons when Archie doesn't have to spend so much time on the defensive side of the game.
    5.  The bench is used as a punishment/motivator.  We never saw this under CTC.
    6.  Turnovers are not being tolerated.
    7.  Substitutions are not pre-planned and happen as the game requires.
    8.  Big Heads are GONE!  If the Big Heads would have made more sense, I could have gotten on board, but what in the hell does Samuel L Jackson, Chuck Norris, Will Smith, a Panda Bear, and Big Bird have to do with IU?  I understand Victor Oladipo, Zeller, Cuban, the We are IU campaign guys, and I can even understand where's waldo with the Red and White but the heads that were being used were poorly done in my opinion.
    9.  I think we can actually do something in the B1G Tournament for a change.  The way we are playing defense gives us a chance in almost every game we play recently.
    10.  Its a stretch but I feel like we have a long shot at still making the Tourney or at the least making the NIT and possibly winning it.
I am excited about the future of IU Basketball and what Archie Miller can do with this program.  I was not a fan of this hire in the beginning but he has won me over by watching his coaching style this season and doing what he has with this team.
The only area I still have concern is in recruiting.  It is still a work in progress for me, as we really only have 4 committed recruits in his tenure so far, so I am anxious to see how he will be able to recruit and specifically the state of Indiana, so verdict is still out.   I do like the 4 he has coming in, but its not a highly ranked class and for us to be successful long term on a national scale like Kansas, UNC, Duke, and UK, we will need higher ranked recruits and higher ranked recruiting classes going forward.  Can he produce them?  We will see.  My feelings or hope is yes, but until I see it, I have to remain open minded and skeptical at this point.
    Thanks for reading!

Certainly not without a major leap. Green has the ability (skills & moxie) but just can't seem to help himself from show-boating. His highlight play to complete foolishness ratio runs pretty close to 1:1. Loved his bounce pass to JM late, but some of those forced shots were brutal. If he "gets it" he could be an above average to very good B1G player......I have my doubts if he will though.
Durham, I'm going hope makes a Soph leap. He has some tools too, but appears to have regressed a bit as the season goes on.
Without a Romeo commitment and/or some completely unforeseen event (Grad transfer) they HAVE to be ready next year for major minutes.

Yep. Mostly because he has incredible skills for his size but it seems like it's all window dressing.

He's not a winner in my estimation. He's a bit selfish. His shooting percentages aren't as strong as they should be. BUT he has the size and skills to have a higher ceiling than most. A very hard one to judge.

Are some of you truly too soft and doughy that you can't read a postgame chat board with fans who are frustrated with a team that has played this poorly two of the last 3 games?   With seniors who disappear and don't make plays this team needs to win?
Do you really think people are jumping off a ledge?   You really think the Indiana fan base is clueless?
Fellas....take a good hard look at yourselves, at history, at expectations (and I don't mean results); and understand where you are.   And capitalize God while you're at it.

Pontiac Dan reacted to Aaron in #IUMS - 2017 B1G Tournament
Jeremy Price finally put on paper the record I knew was bad but did not know the exact number. According to the article we are 2-7 in PK's since 04 title. I know off the top of my head what the 2 wins are without looking. One was in Chicago in 14 against Northwestern in first round of Big Ten Tourney and I was there. We absolutely did not deserve to win in PK's as NW goalie made a beautiful save but fortunately they blasted their 1st and last kick over the goal so we won. The other was in 13 when we beat PSU in PK's to advance to BTN finals. That is our only big time PK win in that time as without that we would of missed tourney in 2013 and not have our long NCAA appearance streak alive.
I don't remember all 7 losses but I remember a few and they were terrible. The fact that we have lost a Big Ten tourney game on PK's 3 straight years (all of which featured multiple bad takes where we just whiffed on shots either high or off the post) tells me we need to work a bit more on our PK approach.
Now the good news is we have not gone out in PK 's or even faced them in NCAA tourney since 07 with Bradley so hopefully that continues.
Let's recap our NCAA tourney losses and most are not that bad or unexpected with Yeagley but were a travesty during Freitag era which is why he is no longer here.
    Freitag
    04 National Title-Success
05- Notre Dame 1st game-Complete no show and embarrasment
06-Santa Clara 2nd game-PK's where we hit the post on game winning PK
07-Bradley 1st game-Played terrible game and ended in PK's where we hit crossbar on one of the PK's
08-St John's 3rd game-We actually had 2 really nice wins in first 2 rounds but erased it all with a blown 2 goal lead in final 5 minutes in by far the worst loss of the Freitag era. I would of fired him after the game but we kept him for another year and were even worse the next year
09-UNC 3rd game (only time we had to play as an unseeded team and did not receive a bye besides 13)-Expected result on road against a better team but damage was done at this point and Freitag was ousted for his repeated failures.
    Yeagley
10-Akron 2nd game- Battled in a game we played a better team on road and lost 2-1
11-UNC 2nd game-Battled in a game where we played a better team to the wire and lost 1-0 in OT
    12-National Title-Success
13-Akron 1st game-Were lucky to be in tourney at all after 7-11 regular season and getting in winning Big Ten Tourney and lost a close 3-2 game
14-Xavier 1st game-This is the only tourney in the Yeagley era where we have truly failed losing 2-1 to an inferior team at home including a missed PK early in the game and XU had a goal keeper on one leg and he had to let a defender take all the goal kicks.
    15-Wake 2nd game-Lost on a late goal against a better team.
16-Va Tech 2nd game-This was a close game with a heartbreaking 2-1 OT loss at home last year. Teams were pretty evenly matched overall and could of probably won but certainly not embarrasing.
My point is with Yeagley for the most part in 7 tourneys (Unlike with Freitag who gave us embarrassing results in pretty much every tourney after winning whole thing first year on job) we have gotten about as far as you would expect in 5, overachieved with the title in 12 and underachieved in 14. I hope I am not eating my words but given we have gotten pretty much where we are suppose to under Todd I am hopefully we can at least get to the Elite 8 which will be our best showing in every year but two since 04. We will probably draw a pretty weak conference winner in first game then have the script reversed as the 1, 2 or 3 seed against a plucky but inferior 14, 15 or 16 in 2nd round like we were in 09, 10, 11, 12 and 15 where we battled to end but lost 4 of the 5 games so its time to flip that being the far superior team now. Also interesting to note if we get a top 4 seed (likely) it will be the first time since the 07 Bradley debacle where we are seeded that high when we were the 4. If we get a 3 it will be highest since 05. If we get a 2 it will be the highest since 04 when we won the title (hopefully we get that which would be a really good omen). Last Number 1 seed (doubtful we get that) was in 97 but as I have said the difference between a 1, 2, 3 or 4 seed is virtually nothing.
