So can we talk about player development?

I’d agree with you if his elbow was parallel, towards a guys chest. Unfortunately he threw it high towards the head. I’m an Al fan (a hard working 3 star that will never be a superstar but has improved) but he deserved to be tossed. -
I said it would put us in the tourney. 10-10 was also my pre-season prediction but I am not very confident at this point. A blow-out at Wiscy, and needing OT to beat Nebraska at home, eerily reminds me of last year. That being said, let’s see what happens. The next 6 games are an interesting mix of: one road game I assume we will lose (@MD), one home game I assume (hope) we will win (NW) two road games against teams that were considered to be weak but now look like more of a threat than anticipated (Rutgers and NB) two home games against ranked, which we tend to “get-up” for, opponents (OSU and MSU). The OSU game will be nuts, especially if RMK is in the house. We are in great shape if we can go 4-2, ok at 3-3 but anything less than that will really leave a difficult uphill climb to the tourney.

That would easily put us in the tourney. I think we are in if we go 9-9, and end up 10-10 in the conference, the rest of the way.

I’m curious. Was it grades, behavior, did he ask for cash?

I agree with some of what you are saying but do you consider making the tourney, in year 3, “winning at a high level” ? I don’t see anyone posting we should be in the FF, sweet 16 etc. The bar has seemingly been lowered to just making the tourney (which is where I am).

I feel bad for Rob. Early in his freshman year he obviously had the talent, temperament and “it factor” to run a team. Due to a multitude of health issues it is clear he is not back to where he was early in his freshman year. Hope he gets back to normal, from a health and conditioning standpoint, for his sake and the team.

Archie has not been forced to just go after Indiana players. In 2019 5/23 of our offers went to Indiana players (that counts Stewart of Lumiere as being an Indiana player). In 2020 2/16 of our offers went to Indiana players. In 2019/2020 we offered 7 point guards and 6 combo guards. All were from out of state and we did not land any of them.
-
He is not hand cuffing himself. The issue/challenge has been that he has gone after plenty of out of state players but hasn’t landed most of the good ones he has recruited.

It’s got to be tough to go from playing at Assembly Hall to playing in front of a middle school crowd.

In the first half I posted I was happy the way we were working the ball inside. Apparently our halftime adjustment was to stop getting the ball inside :(

We are doing a nice job getting the ball inside.

At one time I was all for playing one or both of those teams but since the “pay for play” cheating evidence surfaced, that is clear to EVERYONE except the totally 100% worthless NCAA, I no longer care about playing either. Would much rather schedule Gonzaga or Villanova.

I’m not a fan of conference additions, such as Rutgers and MD in the BT, but how do you think your conference with the Cuse, ND, Pitt, UConn, and bottom feeders would change college bball? To me that sounds like a “shrug your shoulders” type of conference until tourney time.
