I hope your right. Obviously we did not hit any shots the last 10 minutes but everything offensively (passing, cuts, post-ups) looked crisper in the first 10 minutes. Green continues his tendency of taking ill advised shots at the wrong time. We were up 7 and had a chance to get it to 9-10 and he missed a long three with a lot of time on the shot clock. It’s happened a lot in the past....when we have a chance to put someone down he always wants to be the one to administer the dagger but often does not deliver.

Prediction League (Game 16 - Ohio State 1/11/20)

I don’t believe my own prediction but........... IU - 67 OSU - 64 -
I’m curious if Knights attendance is a big deal or not to younger posters like yourself. I was at IU during Knights heyday. If Branch McCraken had shown up to a game and waved I would have politely clapped but it would not have been a particularly emotional/exciting event for the 19/20 year version of me. McCrakens last championship was 22 years before my freshman year (the year we went undefeated) and back then Branch’s last championship seemed to me like something from the stone age. (much like now when kids were not alive when we last won in ‘87 or when Bobby last went to the FF in 1992). I realize Knight was a much bigger phenomenon than Branch, and for years he was the first thing mentioned when anyone discussed IU, but due to the time that has passed does Knight really mean much of anything to the younger generation?

I usually stay out of this but sometimes your skin is thinner than an onion. You really thought he was taking a shot?

IUBB vs Northwestern Game Thread: 1/8/20 @7:00 BTN

I agree. I don’t get the negative comments about Al. Did anyone think he would be a star? He seems like a hard working, great attitude, wants to win type of guy. He might not be the most talented but to me he is a guy that should be applauded and (even though he is a dreaded Crean recruit) supported. In the past few years there have been multiple times I have watched the team sleep -walk through a game and thought that Al seemed to be virtually the only one that gave a crap. -

You are correct but we have been saying they need to consistently play with effort for the last 2 1/2 years. Last year we did not even show up in the BTT for a virtual tourney “play-in” game against OSU. It was good to see the light come on for the last 10 minutes but will that be how we consistently play in the future? History says no but let’s hope they can do it. I think they will come out with energy for the home game against OSU. Crowd will be fired up, especially if Knight shows, and the team tends to get up for home games against ranked teams. We will see if a “light” comes on when we travel to Nebraska and Rutgers. Hope we become consistent but I would not bet on it. -
15 overall (home and away)....brutal.

I thought I really hated Illinois but....watching and hoping they pull out this game at Wiscy, can’t stand the Badgers, especially at home. 57-54 Wiscy with 7:40 to go.

The highlight tonight was watching Olivia Dekker sing the anthem in the second game. -
