McSwain's 22, was it a dui or something?

I wish we had McSwain for four years. I think Crean would've really been able to develop him if he would've gotten him sooner. Regardless, I have no problem with him on the team. He's raw, but he's not a Priller or an April. Who knows, with a summer in Bloomington next year the coaches might turn him into a contributer. At the least he's an athletic body they can use in practice. I don't think jbj will ever play in the NBA. He doesn't have the explosiveness you need to be a 2 guard when you're 6'4. I know he'll be itching to leave after this year, but I don't think he'll be happy with the result if he does. Hopefully he sticks around. -
Yeah if they were arrested the name is going to come out anyway. Idk where/why a player would be drinking though? All the students are gone for winter break.

https://www.google.com/amp/www.chicagotribune.com/sports/college/ct-college-football-bowl-games-nfl-draft-20161219-story,amp.html?client=safari I don't know how I feel about all of these players sitting out their teams' bowl games to prepare for the NFL draft. I understand not wanting to risk injury, but I would be pretty pissed if I was one of their teammates and they quit on the team before the bowl game. You can say that these games are "meaningless exhibitions", but if that's the case only a handful of teams play any meaningful games each year. Where would you draw the line? Once your team is out of playoff consideration the rest of your games would be pretty meaningless.

Why in the world do we have four starters in the game when we're up 50 points? -

I don't think Glass is all that concerned with winning another national championship and as a result will keep Crean here as long as he'll stay. It sucks, but it's probably the hand that we have been dealt. -

A third round exit in the NCAA tourney has been our peak under Crean.. I truly do not think that he's capable of leading a team deep in the tourney. He doesn't have the necessary coaching ability. -

No one cares if you say "former Marian University football player arrested for armed robbery." When you put "former IU football player" you're gonna get more clicks.

I might be wrong, idk, that's just how I interpreted it when I was reading the article. I agree with 8bucks though. I doubt he'll be able to find a more lucrative coaching job than his full buyout would've been, especially with the things that are coming out about him. I definitely agree it's telling that he so willingly left and didn't try fighting it at all. I wish we could find out more of the details. I hate having to do all this speculating.

http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/hoosier-insider/2016/12/02/indiana-hoosiers-kevin-wilson-resign-buyout-contract/94803910/ Did he actually take that big of a cut though? The way I read this Indy star article if he got the full amount he was owed he would get about $2.5 million total over the duration of his contract, but then whatever he made at a new job would be subtracted from the total... There was never a $12 million buyout or anything on the table. This way he's getting a guaranteed $542k from IU next season on top of whatever he gets elsewhere. He's basically betting on himself being able to find a job that pays more than he could've gotten from IU. I'm not saying that none of the reported stuff happened and that he's 100% innocent, but rather that the buyout he agreed to itself doesn't necessarily point to there being more in the shadows than reported.

That article makes no sense to me... All of that happened and yet Glass still gave him a 6 year extension?... Doesn't add up.

Bold prediction: DeRon will be a better player than Bryant by March. -
That's incredible. I found myself lol.

That's kinda how I feel. Looking at the players' and former players' reactions on Twitter I've gotten the vibe that Wilson got screwed over by Glass. The troublemakers are the ones speaking out against Wilson while the guys who are/were model student athletes are in his corner. It seems like Glass wanted to make a move and is using this as an excuse because he knows he can't fire a guy who has brought IU to back-to-back bowl games for performance. It's like what people say about relationships.. If a person starts a relationship with you by cheating on their current SO, why would you think they won't do the same thing to you down the road? That'd be in the back of my head if I was Tom Allen.

His article today was a total hack job. Just blatantly misleading. http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/columnists/gregg-doyel/2016/12/01/doyel-kevin-wilson-gone-but-what-pushed-him-out/94756854/

The msm is crap. I'm glad our guys are going after him.

I'm in the minority but I wish we would've at least made a push for Strong or Miles. Maybe we did and there was no interest on their end. Regardless, it looks like we're in good hands and we'll keep the momentum going.
