  1. I've been watching LeBron since I was 8 and sneaking out of bed to watch him play when his high school games were on espn so I'm definitely biased when it comes to the Jordan/LeBron debate. I think this title might motivate him to gun for another MVP next year instead of coasting through the regular season. I doubt he'll make anymore first team all defense teams though. Too many vines of him not trying on defensive possessions that would barely get noticed without social media.
  2. Yeah I agree, especially when minus the Mavs series he's done his thing in all his finals appearances. He's not out there playing by himself no matter how much it seems like it sometimes. I think the haters think losing before the finals is better than losing in the finals with how much they bring up Lebron's finals record. Witness: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/news/fancy-stats/wp/2016/06/20/lebron-james-passes-michael-jordan-as-most-valuable-player-in-nba-history/?client=safari#
  3. No one has ever come back down 3-1, and no one has ever led both teams in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. He did both in the same series. He's got the same number of rings as Jordan at age 31. More finales MVPs than Kobe. He has a shot at the scoring record and becoming the first 30,000 point, 10,000 rebound and 10,000 assist player. He's going to retire as the best to ever do it, even if he never wins another ring. Not bad for a kid from Akron.
  4. It looks like he shot 5.1 a game in the regular season and 4.6 in the playoffs. His shooting percentages were much worse in the playoffs though. 43.8% and 40.4 from 3 compared to 50.4% and 45.4% from 3 in the regular season.
  5. Steph has come up small in each of the past two finals. LeBron is judged solely on his finals performances, and all year long everyone was annointing Steph as the best in the NBA, so shouldn't he get the same treatment? This guy was the unanimous MVP and had a 3-1 lead in the NBA finals with two of the last three at home, and he blew it. Steph shrunk in the moment, Kyrie shined.
  6. Oh absolutely not, LeBron is my favorite player of all time. He was beyond sensational. Kyrie outplayed Steph all series long though. When the lights were brightest Kyrie was his best. I'm rolling with him over Steph any day of the week. Steph's gonna remember Kyrie's game winner for a long, long time.
  7. So about Kyrie not even being a top 3 guard in the NBA...
  8. Steph got exposed this playoffs, imo.
  9. Lillard spent four years in college. Kyrie played like 10 games at Duke and then went to the dumpster fire that was the Cavs. He was just a talented kid on a garbage team. It's not an excuse, Kyrie just wasn't mature. Kyrie might not be much of a leader right now, but having LeBron in his ear every day will only help him. He was still recovering from his knee injury for most of the year but seems to finally be hitting his stride. Give him an offseason to actually work on his game and not spend it all rehabbing and I think we'll see some big improvements. I'm excited to see what he can do when he becomes "the man" in Cleveland as LeBron declines.
  10. He's been the best guard in the NBA finals so far though. Lillard over Kyrie? Cmon now...
  11. I'm kind of surprised no one's went with Kyrie so far.
  12. Man, are you related to Troy or something? You just compared him to Durant and Curry.. If Troy winds up in the D League you can barely call that making money playing basketball. I think the guys with careers on here would rather stick with the ones they have than make $13k a year playing in empty arenas.
  13. Hulls maxed out his basketball abilities. He was never going to play in the NBA no matter how many hours he spent in the gym, Europe was his ceiling. Troy is different because he's capable of much more. He shows flashes but that's it. On another note, what are his chances of ever making it to the NBA if he goes overseas instead of the D League? I remember Sean Kilpatrick from Cincinnati was a guy who said he went to the D League instead of Europe where he could make a lot more money because the NBA was his dream. He caught on with Brooklyn this year so I was curious if it's more common for guys to make it to the NBA from Europe or the D League.
  14. I'm excited about this kid. I have no idea how good he'll be next year, but I have a good feeling for some reason.
  15. He's given us plenty of reasons to judge him in his three years at IU, his on court performance is just a small fraction of them. I don't think any of us are trying to criticize him here, we're just frustrated by all the wasted potential we see in him. It would seem to be a better idea to come back, improve on his weaknesses, and be a first round pick next year than go play in some country where he can't speak the language. I really doubt playing in China was his dream growing up. But I guess if money is the ultimate factor which it seems to be in this situation then by all means he should go and get it in whatever league he can.
  16. I feel like no part of Troy wants to be back at IU next fall. If he comes back I find it likely that he spends all year playing for himself and trying to impress the NBA scouts. I don't think "team" will ever cross his mind, it'll be "NBA contract" all year. Maybe that would make us a better team, but I find it troublesome. I would just personally rather see an IU team without him next year.
  17. To each their own man. I just expected him to head to another D1 school since he was leaving. He probably could've gotten a situation like this coming out of high school. As for Priller, not sure what your problem is with him. If you want to be mad at anyone then be mad at Coach Crean for offering him a scholarship. You can't hate on him for sticking around, he's living the dream. He's not going to find a better situation than the one he's in right now.
  18. This is strange. Idk how being a walk-on at a program like Indiana is worse than playing for a D3 school. Heck, I'd say being a regular student at a school like IU would be better than playing at a D3 school. Best of luck to him though, maybe it's the situation he wanted.
  19. In that case I'm even more confused lol. He must reallyyyyy hate it here. Oh well I guess, we'll see what happens sooner or later.
  20. ??? This makes no sense. The NBA scouts aren't going to tell him anything to improve on that the average IU fan couldn't tell him.
  21. I've got nothing against the kid. I sincerely hope he proves us all wrong. I just fear we've wasted a scholarship on a kid whose talent level is closer to hper than it is to Assembly Hall.
  22. Wouldn't it put us back at even if Troy comes back since Gelon isn't using his? I'm not sure how exactly that would work out, I'm just thinking of options if someone has to leave. I really can't see it being Priller. His girlfriend goes here and he's getting a full-ride, idk why he would give that up.
  23. Prep school for a year for him if Troy comes back? Just a thought.
  24. Heard that as well, and that the last straw was some of Troy's buddies stealing Luke's stuff. I don't Luke fit in with the culture of IU basketball at the time whatsoever. Sure wish he had stuck around, though.
