How many more times are we going to throw screen passes on 3rd and long before we realize they don't work?

Because he was getting bodied in the paint by a bunch of scrubs whenever he did get the ball. Feeding him doesn't do any good when they keep throwing the ball back into his face when he goes up.

We got the result we deserved.

Bryant needs to get mean and stop getting bodied down low.

Well obviously, but I wanted to look for a silver lining instead of joining the "the sky is falling" crowd. There are worse things in the world than getting humbled by a far inferior opponent. We're a good team and we're going to have a good season. I just think our guys were flying high after the Kansas game and this should bring them back down to earth and remind them of the mission at hand.

Getting embarrassed like this is good for us. Our guys started getting cocky with the win over Kansas and the #3 ranking. Being humbled like this will pay off down the road.

I went back and was looking at the play-by-play and this is is the exact kind of thing I'm talking about. Lagow was 3/4 this drive for 65 yards. He got over a third of his yards for the entire game on this drive alone. We get a 1st and goal at the 7 and then Wilson calls three straight run plays. We kick a field goal, they come down and score a touchdown, and we're done after that. It makes no sense to me why we wouldn't take at least one shot at the end zone.

It's not being a fair weather fan to point out that our coach coaches us out of games. He's running QB draw plays with Lagow by the goal line when we've got a backup QB perfect for those situations. It's absurd. We had a chance to go up 14-6 and we threw it away with terrible play calling. Why not put Zander, Natee and Camion out there and see what happens? It worked during the first half. This season we have seen our coach consistently have us play not to lose. We haven't won a game all year that we weren't supposed to win. How long do we put up with being "close at the end" before we get sick of it and expect more? IU had absolutely nothing to lose this afternoon and yet in the second half our coaches decided to go ultra conservative with the play calling. Why? I'm not mad that we lost. It was expected. What I'm mad about, and have been mad about all season, is that our coaches consistently refuse to take risks to win games against superior opponents. We're not supposed to win, so why not pull out all the tricks? The conservative approach obviously isn't working. We're losing these games and leaving the chamber full.

We don't deserve a bowl game this year.

Our punter punts like there isn't a defense on the other side of the ball.

Wilson has to be the worst play caller in the Big 10. Absolutely terrible.

Wilson is going to lose us this game with his play calling. I hope I'm wrong.

I guess I just find it hard to understand how someone could have gone through all those things that he alleges Knight did and still care a lot about him, respect him, see him as a father figure, etc. I would have told the guy to kick rocks the moment he squeezed my balls, cracked a clipboard over my head, etc and never looked back. Like Stuhoo said though, using a logical thought process while trying to figure out this situation probably won't work given Jadlow's path in life.

If someone squeezed me by the balls I wouldn't be able to stop myself from swinging on them, let alone be able to respect them or look up to them. Everyone is different though, I guess. Knight was a mean SOB with borderline psychotic tactics. The culture he grew up in was completely different than the one we live in now. Whether you think that's a good thing or a bad thing doesn't matter, it's not fair to judge his actions then with our culture now. I just find some of his allegations now, almost 30 years after they happened, extremely suspect given the incentives to make them up.

"I don't know what I'm going to do with all my Indiana stuff," Jadlow said after Knight's firing. "I'm sure not going to be wearing anything Indiana. For the first time in my life I'm ashamed to say that I'm a graduate of Indiana." He went on to say: "I, personally, don't believe the two-faced (IU) administration… It's just sad the way things transpired. This is a guy (Knight) who should have a monument of him erected." If the quote is legit then that doesn't sound like a guy who experienced the things he's now claiming to have experienced.

Always be wary of allegations made by someone with something to sell. "Todd Jadlow wrote a book? Who cares, he's a junkie." vs. "Todd Jadlow wrote a book and said in it that Coach Knight grabbed players by the balls and threw tampons at them? Lemme check it out for myself."

How much did Bryant weigh last year? He looked kind of lanky to me which I think made it more difficult to bang in the paint. He should be an absolute monster at 255 this year.

I think it's karma for so many students missing home games early on last year.

We're not going to go bowling if Lagow remains our quarterback, imo. It's doubtful we will if we bench him for another guy, but at this point we have to try someone else. Even if it's just for a quarter or two. Every game Lagow has a few possessions that make you go "see, he has the ability to be a starting Big 10 quarterback, he just needs to bring this for four quarters." But he never does. He'll look good for a little bit, turn around and throw a pass right to the other team, and repeat.
