  1. Bryant Haines, with a big smile, talking about his daughter who is 7 months old "Gracie bear is undefeated. She's never tasted defeat." Indiana DC Bryant Haines talking about his 'lower rated' players at the Broyles Award Ceremony: "I don't want to sell those kids short. I don't know what a 5-star is. They are tough as nails kids, extremely competitive ... that's the mental makeup to be a 5-star player."
  2. Winning streak ended with a 7-6 loss to Arizona State in yesterday's second game. We had a 3-0 lead going into the bottom of the 5th but ASU scored 4 and added 3 more in their 6th. We picked up 2 in our 6th and 1 in the 7th but it wasn't enough. We used up all our hits in the first game and could only muster 5 in this game. Taylor Hess started and pitched 4 solid innings and then imploded in the 5th. Single game scheduled for today at noon against Pacific.
  3. @LamarCheeks once again thank you for your updates. One helluva effort missing both Z and Shay. And what in the hell is CTM doing playing Makalusky? dws Maya really stepped up last night not just in scoring but she grabbed 6 rebounds as well. Really happy for her and that has to be a huge confidence boost. Nevaeh also played well. Yes, we lost, but the women put up a damn good fight.
  4. UNC star freshman Caleb Wilson has a broken left hand. No indication on when/if he will return.
  5. What a way to open the weekend. 23-0 demolishing of Portland State. Aly VanBrandt went 5-5 hitting for the cycle that included 2 HR and a total of 7 RBI which tied a program record. We had a total of 22 hits with 6 other women having multi-hit games and 4 women with multi-RBIs. Ella Trout pitched the full 5-inning run-shortened game allowing a single hit and 2 BB. Later today, they'll play AZ State.
  6. The Grind Session is in California this weekend and all games will be streamed on Grind Session YouTube. Teams of possible interest to us include Academy of Central Florida (Martay Barnes), DME (Ryan Hampton) and Prolific Prep (Nas Anderson and Bruce Branch) https://www.youtube.com/@thegrindsession/streams
  7. Jared Kelly - CBs coach Rod Ojong has added Defensive Pass Game Coordinator/Defensive Backs coach to his official job title. Looks like an upgrade for Ojong to bolster his long-term résumé, similar to Bob Bostad serving as Run Game Coordinator.
  8. This young lady is like the Energizer Bunny on the court. She plays nearly the entire game and is constantly on the move. As I've said previously, unless it's a fast break off a rebound, she is the only player on the team who brings the ball up court on every possession. She can handle the ball with her left hand in open court but any drive to the basket will be on the right side of the lane. She has a nice step back and in the most recent game I watched she pulled off a Euro step. She's fun to watch because she's so active and never shows any emotion or reaction to officiating. In her last 2 games, she's scored 39 and 40 points respectively while grabbing 12 and 10 rebounds. For 27 games per MaxPreps: 31.9p, 11.0r, 4.2a, 3.5s, 2.3b. Her shooting % aren't available as the school only reports number of baskets made and not number of attempts.
  9. Caught up with a couple of Savoury's recent games. On the 6th, Belleville defeated Stevenson 75-42. Savoury finished with 38p, 9r, 3a, 6s, 1b, 0t. On the 10th, Belleville defeated Wayne Memorial 56-54 in a great game between two really good teams and remains undefeated on the season. Belleville led 32-25 at the half but the 3rd Q was all Wayne and they led 43-41 at the end of the Q. Savoury saved her best for the 4th with 11p, 3r and a steal. She finished with 33p, 6r, 0a, 2s, 0b, 4t. In the Stevenson game she drew 8 fouls and drew 10 in the Wayne Memorial game.
  10. Good story on our new pitching coach who hopefully can straighten out some of the woes we've experienced the past several seasons with our pitchers. https://www.on3.com/teams/indiana-hoosiers/news/how-matt-myers-infectious-positivity-is-reshaping-indiana-baseballs-pitching-staff/
  11. Smith is scheduled to announce on Friday. While it's nice for our pr that we continue to be named as one of his finalists, I don't recommend holding your breath that we're his pick.

  14. My guess is that she's not officially considered as being on the roster but purely a guess on my part. Basically she's just a second semester student.
  15. Probable starters for #iubase at No. 11 North Carolina: Friday: LHP Tony Neubeck, Gr. (Missouri transfer) Saturday: RHP Jackson Bergman, Sr. (Toledo transfer) Sunday: TBD
  16. 2026 Top-25 recruit Lincoln Cosby has committed to Michigan, a source told @Rivals. The 6-foot-9 forward was a top-10 recruit in 2027 prior to reclassifying.
  17. This is just one possibility for the sculptor to consider.
  18. Before Woody would have done that he'd have to set his wine glass down and put his cigar in an ashtray.
  19. “I know he wasn’t into that type of stuff. It’s really not for him, per se. It’s for the players, the managers, the fans, the assistants. When they asked me, there was no question about it." — Pat Knight on the statue of his father Bob Knight that is coming to Assembly Hall.
