  1. I'm trying to press 1 for English but it's not working!
  2. Is that Klingon or Vulcan? I have trouble differentiating between the 2.
  3. Moving right along, another game streamed on Big Bird especially for you night owls. The Condoms (16-6) (5-6) average 82 ppg with a +6 margin shooting 47% FG and 32% on 3s. They average 38 rpg with a +4 margin so not a dominating team on the boards. They have 4 averaging 10 ppg or better led by Rodney Rice (who is out for the year) at 20.3 and Chad Baker-Mazarra at 18.8. Baker-Mazarra is by far their best 3 shooter at 37%. They have 2 other players shooting 39% but on minimal attempts. Jacob Cofie at 7.4 and Ezra Ausra at 6.0 are their leading rebounders. Ausra is particularly effective on the offensive glass. As a team their assist/turnover ratio is 1.2 and they only generate 14 ppg off turnovers. Don't want to get too giddy after the last 2 wins in particular, but this is a winnable road game. radio Live Stats
  4. Academy of Central Florida (FL) 78 DME Wisconsin (WI) 57. Player of the Game: Martay Barnes 26p 2r 2a 6s
  5. Grayson (18-1) 80-56 over Archer (7-15). Curry 23p, 5r, 1a, 3s, 0b, 2t. 10-16 FG, 0-3 on 3s, 3-6 FT. Not very many of Grayson's games have been streamed on NFHS.
  6. River Ridge (16-6) 55-46 win over Pope (10-12). Parker 22p, 7r, 0a, 1s, 0b, 2t. I've now watched at least 3 of her games and to my untrained eye I see the same things in each game. She has trouble finishing at the rim. She has trouble hanging on to the ball and catching passes securely or grabbing rebounds cleanly and opponents frequently knock the ball out of her hands. Maybe this is a contributing factor to what I see as difficulty finishing at the rim.
  7. Last night, #2 ranked 3A Mars Hill (21-3) defeated 6A Austin 82-54. Hill lit it up with 51 points on 16-26 FG, 6-8 on 3s and 13-13 FT. She added 8 reb, 1a, 1s, 0b, 3t. She drew 9 fouls. She played all but 2 minutes and had to be exhausted. She's the teams primary ballhandler and unless it's a breakaway on a rebound, she brings the ball up court on every possession and was still playing late in the 4th Q with a 25+ point lead. MaxPreps doesn't have good stats for what her season shooting percentages are but her 3s last night were made off a combination of catch and shoot as well as creating her own shot off the dribble. A big unknown IMO is can she play defense. At 6'1", she's the tallest girl on the team and clearly indispensable as their ballhandler. I'm speculating it's by design, but she rarely attempts to block shots or take charges and she's not overly aggressive in rebounding which all helps keep her out of foul trouble.
  8. Rematch with Madison Academy (see Jan. 17 post). The NFHS scoreboard did not work so no idea at this point what the final score was, but Hill put on quite a performance: 40p, 11r, 2a, 1s, 5b, 2t. 12-20 FG, 2-4 on 3s, 14-16 FT. She drew 10 fouls. In this game she did make spin moves to her left and demonstrated a nifty little step back jump shot. Drives to the rim were all on the right side. Her season averages on MaxPreps: 30.8p, 11.6r, 5.2a, 4.5s, 3.4b, 1.3t
  9. Pat Coogan immortalized - “Whereas this self-described team of “misfits” inspired Hoosiers throughout their incredible season…”
  10. Academy of Central Florida (FL) 95 over West Oaks (FL) 60. Martay Barnes 18p, 2r, 4a, 4s
  11. Colvin is the only player in the state to tally more than 100 rebounds 100 assists 100 steals while also averaging more than 20 points per game and she’s done it in back to back seasons. Regular season avgs 30.1pts, 7.8reb, 5.4stl, 5.0ast, 1.0blk.
  12. Gardner still out with injury; I've seen Feb. 5, as a projected return date. Even without him, Fishers keeps on winning (17-0) defeating Franklin Central 76-28. Cooper Zachary scored 36p hitting 10 3s. Really be interesting to see where he ends up and how he performs at the college level.
  13. Lengthy but a good analysis of MacCalla
  14. If the women are going to break their losing streak, this is the game to do it. Northwestern (8-13 (2-8) and just 1-7 in road games. The Wildcats average 66 ppg with a -7 margin shooting 42% FG and just 25% on 3s. IUWBB 71 ppg shooting 47% FG and 38% on 3s. NW 35 rpg vs IUWBB 32 rpg. Probably a sloppy game as both teams average 15 turnovers/game. They do move the ball well with 18 assists/game vs only 12 for IUWBB. Grace Sullivan is their major scoring threat at 21.8 ppg. 2 others average just over 10 ppg. Xamiya Walton is a 42% 3-point shooter followed by Casey Harter at 39%. Tayla Davis averages 8.3 rpg followed by Sullivan at 6.7 and Caroline Lau at 6.3. Lau has 185 assists on the season to just 85 turnovers so shutting her down would be very helpful. Radio Live Stats
  15. Some stats from The Grind Session. Hampton and Barnes both with IU offers.
  16. FWIW from Delphi Bracketology Indiana is in our last 4 in but need some more work to stay in the bracket. IN Indiana New Mexico Virginia Tech Miami Fla First 4 Out Texas Missouri Stanford Seton Hall
  17. West coast swing opens tomorrow against the Bruins (15-6) (7-3) and 12-0 at home. Cronin's Cronies average 77 ppg with a +9 margin shooting 48% FG and 38% on 3s. Not a strong rebounding team averaging 32 rpg which matches their opponents average. They aren't careless with the ball averaging just 10 turnovers/game. Tough to defend with 5 players averaging in double figures led by Tyler Bilodeau at 18.2 ppg. 3 players with any significant volume average 40% or better on 3s. Eric Daily their leading rebounder at 6/gm. followed by Bilodeau at 5.4. Xavier Booker has started 19 of their 21 games and averages 19 min/gm; 6.9 ppg and 3.4 rpg. Radio Live Stats
