  1. Raby's description last week of the position - handle contracts for NIL and revenue sharing and organizational aspects of recruiting and roster management. Coaching staff makes the decisions on who to recruit and who to sign. Raby described it along the lines of an associate general manager in an NBA office. .
  2. St. John's faces Paul VI tomorrow for the WCAC championship.
  3. Just 2 regular season games left. A trip to the armpit of the nation, cesspool of the world on Wednesday and then the season ending game hosting Penn State in Bloomington. The Scarlet Pimpernels (9-18) (1-15) provide a huge opportunity to extend our winning streak to 2 games. They average a paltry 58 ppg with a -10 margin shooting 36% FG and 29% on 3s. They average 36 rpg with a -2 margin. They careless with the ball averaging 17 TOs/game. 4 players average double figures led by Nene Ndiaye at 15.0 ppg. Their highest volume 3-point shooter is Kayah Ivey who's attempted 172 but only makes 26% of them. Next highest on volume is Ndiaye at 40% on 74 attempts. 3 players average 5-6 rpg. Ivey has recorded 99 assists against 61 turnovers. It's a road game in a horrible place but our women bounced back very nicely today after the UCLA drubbing and certainly didn't throw in the towel. 4. Women trailed So. FL 5-2 going into the 7th. Got 1 but that was it and they end up with a 5-3 loss. Troutt started and pitched into the 5th giving up 5 runs on 6 hits. Mannon came on and pitched hitless ball to finish the night. We had 7 hits, 3 of which from VanBrandt. Re-match with USF tomorrow at 1:00 on ESPN+
  5. Don't know what the deal was with Manhertz today. Didn't play a single minute in the first half but played all 16 minutes of the 2nd half. Early on the announcers speculated about an injury but when he played the second half he certainly didn't appear to be bothered by anything. Christ School's season record is now 21-12. 10 of their games have been as participants in the EYBL Scholastic League where their record is 1-9. This is the school's first year in this league and is definitely a step up from their traditional high school scheduling.
  6. We basically held our own on the boards 37-40, but had 17 TOs and Shay only scored 20 pts. But we won anyway.
  7. It took 11 innings but ND gets a 9-8 win. 6 Hoosier pitchers allowed 13 hits and walked 4. We had 15 hits; Ricketts and Fry each with 3. Malamazian had 3 RBI. We're now 2-5 on the season. Tuesday evening we'll be in Cincinnati to play Xavier. Next weekend a 4-game series in Bowling Green, KY against Western Kentucky.
  8. I could not routinely find box score info for Moody. From various sources I can give you averages for 15 of his games: 19.1p, 4.7r, 3.8a, 1.5s, .1b, 3.0t For 10 games, I found actual box scores for his shooting stats: 48% FG, 42% on 3s, 82% FT The team played a total of 31 games so the info above is from a fairly limited sample but the best I can offer.
  9. Women win the first of 2 today in a 12-9 slugfest over Boston College. Reyes started but was pulled in the 2nd having faced just 11 batters but giving up 2 hits and 4 BB and being charged with 4 BC runs. Hess relieved and pitched the remaining 6 innings allowing 7 hits and charged with BC's other 5 runs. We scored 7 in the bottom of the first and added 3 more in the 5th and 2 more in the 6th. We had 14 hits led by Parker with 3 (2 for HRs) and Cooper, Bird, Strader and Kettleman each with 2. Parker also led the way with 4 RBI. Scheduled to play UCF at 3:00 today.
  10. Seth Tow - Indiana is a 5.5-point underdog here. Hoosiers fighting to make the Big Ten Tournament — bottom three still miss out on the women’s side. #iuwbb is currently safe by a half game. Their last two games this coming week are against Rutgers and Penn State, both below IU.
  11. Christ School vs Montverde Academy at 2:00. Stream available at: https://nikeeyb.com/eybl-scholastic-christ
  12. Colvin was unable to play in the 3rd place game due to a badly sprained ankle and was in a walking boot. Season stats from MaxPreps for 24 games: 30.9p, 8.0r, 4.8a, 5.4s, 1.1b, 2.6t 47% FG, 35% on 3s, 85% FT
  13. Hoosiers bounce back and take a 6-1 win over UCF. Thomas started and pitched 5 innings of 1-hit ball with 4 BB. Rivera pitched the final 4 innings allowing just 2 hits and walking 1. We had 9 hits. Denny with 3; Crouse and Malamazian each with 2. Malazmazian 3 RBIs. 11:00 am Sunday morning we take on Notre Dame who lost to LSU today 9-4.
  14. I'm not absolutely certain, but I think this may have been Moody's last game of his high school career. Paul VI features Jordan Smith (Arkansas) and Bishop McNamara has been missing Qayden Samuels for many weeks due to injury.
  15. Sunday schedule change - Indiana vs. Boston College (10 AM). Indiana vs. USF (3 PM).
  16. Another day another win. 10-1 over St. Joseph in a run-shortened game. Hooks pitched all 5 innings allowing 5 hits and 0 BB. We had 13 hits led by VanBrandt with 3 that included 2 triples; Cooper and Bird 2 hits each. In all, 9 different Hoosiers had at least 1 hit. 2 games on Sunday - Marist at 9:00 am. No stream available Boston College at 11:30 am. No stream available
  17. Idaho seeds its state tournament and yesterday #3 seed Coeur d'Alene was manhandled by #1 seed Eagle 76-47. In the 5th game of the season these 2 teams met and Eagle won that game by 19 pts. Several keys in yesterdays loss. A 12 ppg player for Eagle couldn't miss and scored 33 hitting 14 FG. Eagle dominated the boards with 43 total rebounds that included 15 offensive and second chance opportunities. Colvin had no offensive help scoring 21 of CaD's 47. They were down 18 at the half and to start the 3rd it looked like she was just going to take the game over but it didn't work. She started making wild drives to the basket hoping for foul calls that never came. Midway through the 3rd she went down with an ankle injury and didn't return until the start of the 4th but it didn't matter as the game was effectively over. Her final game of the season is today when CaD plays #4 seed in the 3rd place game. Going to be interesting to see if this is a player we really pursue or we made the offer and that's about as far as her recruitment goes.
