  1. Do they practice shooting at all? Granted the college game is different, but the only way a decent shooter in HS becomes a bad shooter in college is they don't practice and develop it.
  2. If you only define success via wins and losses, then yes by defitition only a small majority will be considered successful (someone has to win and someone has to loose). And maybe they are working hard putting the time in, a la Archie, but not working smart?
  3. I know very few people who work hard and are not successful. I suppose working hard, doing the same thing, and expecting different results -- well that's insanity, right.
  4. I disagree he worked his a$$ off. The previously posted article with quotes from is first press conference regarding an up tempo offense etc. is exactly what he didn't provide. Why? That is completely on him. If a future coach is going to be butthurt over a truthful wiki page, then go coach D3.
  5. Hallelujah. No excuses now.
  6. ^^^^ This is why he should be gone (and possibly never been hired, if known). He's playing checkers, while everyone else is playing chess.
  7. You know what looks worse? The TV graphic showing that IU hasn't beaten Purdue since 2016.
  8. Hate to break it to you. As far as we have fallen, you ain't getting that guy. IU needs to rebuild it's entire b-ball foundation. Get a level of sustained sucess, before it can become elite again. Once the announcers can no longer say "IU hasn't beaten Purdue since 2016" we'll have more luck rebuilding. We have fallen so far, we may never get back up.
  9. IDK, Enfield made some runs with lower level programs and is a current D1 head coach. Fife is what, 15 years out of head coaching?
  10. My vote is the multiple air balls.
  11. Out of the box hire. Not sexy but could possibly succeed at IU. At least he's not mid-major (I know PAC whatever is debatable). Unfortunately, I don't think we are getting a guy with a ring, already in the HOF. New coach is going to have to work for it.
  12. Then that's a failure of the AD. He should always have s a short list of coaches. And if a great one becomes available, be ready to make a move -- a la the Cubs when Joe Madon became available.
  13. Big risk, but big reward. I don't think they got lucky. Allen took his opportuinty and made the most out of it. Just hope he sticks around for a long time (assuming he keeps it up). Most coaches crap the bed.
  14. Revenue isn't lost profits. Definitely makes it hard to profit, but sounds worse than it actually is.
  15. That makes them the Chicago Bears. Get ready for years and years of sucky.
  16. I think it is just a matter of stubbornness. This is what worked at Dayton, so why change? Hard lesson to learn, but maybe not so hard with a $10 mil cushion.
  17. How about Boston. :)
  18. Fair enough, but It's Howard's name on the door.
  19. Howard actually runs an offense. Here's a pretty good video
  20. Good coaches adapt. Bad coaches don't.
  21. Better watch out. Tom Allen may be looking for a tight end. :)
  22. And what other coaches think as well. If we are bottom of the barrel and nobody wants to come, Fife might be the only legitimate choice.
  23. I give Crean a ton of credit. Watching those early games with the Kilroys rec team was tough. But year 2, saw some incremental improvement. I expected a lot more in year three, and did my "chit man" when it was basically year 2 all over. And then there was YEAR 4 -- WE'RE BACK BABY!!!! Too bad he couldn't get over the hump or sustain it, year after year. But 1000% better than the crap we have been watching the last 4 years.
  24. I'd rather have Henry on my team. :)
  25. Hope they realize that Stevens would bring in boat loads of money. Several multiples of the $7 mil he costs.
