  1. Looks good to me. Probably has a lot to do with the fact that the camera angle is quite low. This kid is grossly underrated. Clear upgrade to what we have now.
  2. Was wondering when someone would mention this. The thing I hated most about Crean was his post game pressers after losses. RARELY held himself accountable.
  3. It took Tom Izzo 3 seasons to be competitive.....Coach K took 6 seasons until he won the ACC for the 1st time....Dean Smith 6 seasons..... I'm not happy about the way this season is going but this reaction is over the top and borderline insane.... this team stinks but I've seen them defend, protect the ball, execute out of timeouts, and execute in the half court in ways that I haven't seen an IU team do in over 10 years..... just do yourself a favor and check out for the year. You'll be doing your mental health a favor. If you can't see the obvious limitations that this current roster has and the fact that our coach is trying to turn water into wine, with a roster he had NOTHING to do with, then you can't be reasoned with.
  4. We could have won every game this season and Romeo wasn't coming. I will agree that this game, this team, and this season in general is going to make Archie's job exponentially harder.
  5. I'm on the exact same page as you. He's the best player we are recruiting in the 2019 class.
  6. Ok, so we're all in agreement that Juwan is our alpha dog now.....right?
  7. He reminds me of Trey Burke.
  8. They panicked in the first game of the season.... It's really easy to see why other fan bases can't stand ours and it's not because they're peanut butter and jealous.
  9. But he knows how to get players to the league!!!
  10. From what I've seen, I don't think anyone on this entire board disagrees that Romeo would be our best player from day one.... Some of us just disagree that he's actually going to play at Indiana based on the information we have up until now.... We also seem to have differing opinions on whether the sky would be falling if he didn't come here.
  11. Guessing it will get a bump. If not, I'm not concerned. Always felt like the 2019 class would be the one to move the needle for us, romeo or not.
  12. Good read. I've been bullish on Hunter and Phinissee. Hunter, I think is going to be a star and maybe wont be around past 2 seasons. RP is a flat out winner who I think can be in contention for conference POY by the time he's a senior. I've stated it before but this class is a really good class, in terms of potential and laying a foundation to be able to contend nationally.
  13. I respectfully disagree. De'Ron Davis and Juwan Morgan are our best players by far and neither of them fix our issues behind the arc. Our guard play is flat out embarrassing to watch. Robert Johnson was the highest rated guard we have and he cant hit a wide open jumper to save his life. We have ZERO depth off the bench. If this team makes the tournament this year, then we will have all witnessed a true miracle.
  14. Vandy has Darius Garland recruiting for them. Nothing more..nothing less. Coach Drew has nothing to sell other than some bs pitch that "he knows what it takes to get to the league durrr bc he played in the league durrr durrr..." Hows that working for Chris Mullin, Mark Price & Avery Johnson? All players who were 1000x the player as Drew and actually know what it takes to get and STAY in the league. It drives me insane when coaches use this as a selling point to elite talent.... Hey Romeo! Want to know how to get to the league? Don't blow both knees out at the same time....otherwise your a lock to be drafted into the lottery. Coach Drew isn't going to help you anymore than you've already helped yourself. Even with Romeo they aren't winning their conference, let alone a National Championship. Kentucky will be loaded with more than 3 McDonalds all Americans. Florida will be solid and have a better coach. We see this time and time again with Kansas and Kentucky. It's EXTREMELY difficult to win championships with freshman...3 McDAA's, an unproven coach, and a BARE roster outside of the top 3 players won't get the job done..... in today's college game you HAVE to have depth on the bench, with the way the game is called. Romeo doesn't solve that problem for them. Losing Romeo isn't an indictment on the current staff. It will be far more difficult for TJD to say no to IU than Romeo. Indiana was never high on his list and Archie put us in position to have a seat at the table. I'm not gonna lose my mind when the inevevitable happens. Archie is head and shoulders above Crean as a tactician. Time will tell whether he can recruit and sustain success at Indiana. Keep in mind he doesn't have a single player on the roster (that's able to play), that he scouted, recruited, and brought into the program. I won't start panicking until we strike out on all of our primary targets in the 2019 class. Short term forecast looks uncertain but I think the long term forecast is trending upward overall. I love next years class. CAM needs a foundation to build his house on.... next years class with what we currently have, puts us in position to only need 1-2 headliners in the near future.
  15. I'm going down to Southport this weekend to get a first hand look at this kid. Excited to see the other commits as well.
  16. It's pretty symbolic, in regards to their basketball and football history. They've been stuck at the bottom since inception. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app
  17. Been on twitter the whole game....the NCAA is killing the game for me with the rules in place and the way the game is ref'd. I know this isn't going to be popular here but the NBA is so much easier to watch nowadays. The flow of the game is great and they know how to ref the really good players. McSwain got called for boxing out for Christ's sake. Bolden damn near jumps on Hartman's middle back for an offensive rebound and nothing is called. These refs are literally as useless as an ashtray on a motorcycle.
  18. Anyone who wants to watch Keion Brooks, or any other Fort Wayne area high school game, you can go to YouTube then search "Summit City Sports" and you will have a live stream broadcast of each game.
  19. https://t.co/SvaX9wxhak no mention of Indiana, whatsoever. Seems we may be cooling on him or the interest isn't mutual.
  20. That could be. I wouldn't doubt it if it weren't for the fact that Romeo personally said that Indiana became a legitimate option with the new staff. I have no reason to believe he's lying.
  21. This is literally just lightning in a bottle for Vandy and the worst possible luck for Indiana. Drew had a relationship with Garland since the 3rd grade and ends up taking a job in his backyard. Garland happens to be a extremely talented and charismatic player that other great players want to play next to. Drew wasn't recruiting Romeo Langford until the Langford family ASKED him to get involved..... the Vandy insider Chris Smith is willing to stake his reputation on the inside info he's receiving, that Romeo's commitment is a done deal and eminent. So far he's 2 for 2. Others are crystal balling based off of the info he's providing them with. I personally believe him. ZERO chance Romeo's family allows him to play his last season in front of IU faithful as a Vandy recruit..... He has 1 foot in the door at Vanderbilt. It's not hard to see that based off of the information that circulating. There isn't any funny business going on IMO. Personally that claim bothers me, quite a bit. I get tired of hearing how Indiana is clearly the greatest option for every kid, yet when we miss on them, the only logical explanation is "they cheatin!" Let's lose with some class for once. I'm personally going to be a fan of the kid's regardless of where he plays his 1 year of college ball. At the end of the day he's still an Indiana high school legend who will go onto much bigger and better things regardless of his college choice. Some perspective: We aren't even in the galaxy of having this discussion right now without Archie and the current staff. We are in great hands. Personally, his decision won't affect my level of excitement as to the direction this program is going. I hope others can let the ether settle a tad and take the same approach.
  22. I had no idea. That seems reasonable though.
  23. Am I the only one who is wondering why Arch and Ostrom are at TJD's first game instead of Romeo's?
