Where do you get off saying Archie and Crean are the same coach? You're overreacting rn. Remind of the last time Crean took a team to the NCAA tournament 4 years in a row? Dayton had been to 1......1 in the previous 9 seasons before him. Now extrapolate the fact that he's been consistent at Dayton with what resources he will have available to him at Indiana University. Seriously, gather yourself and start thinking with logic, rather than emotion. Ask yourself.....if you never would have had the thought of hiring Billy Donovan planter in your head, would you view this hire the same way? Miller advanced DAYTON further in the NCAA tournament than Crean was able to in 9 years at Indiana. DAYTON!!!!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion on this hire. I will say, don't take it out on the admin or the new coach. Take it out on those attention whores over at 247 and on Twitter. They were the ones who sold us on the Donovan bs. Archie is a fantastic young coach and a tremendous recruiter.

He recruited kostas antetokounmpo to Dayton over Florida and other high majors. He was also the point man while recruiting at OSU and Arizona.

Does this mean we get the Greek Freak's brother?!?!?!?!?!
-
His name even sounds like a name that will go down in the history books. **** yes!
-
I don't mean this in a condescending way at all... seriously.....please go and Google Archie Miller and try to ingest as much as you can. Dude is a star. We got a young guy that literally checks every single box of an elite coach. We will be pleased.
-
I'll put it this way......the roof is NOT the ceiling.
-
This tells me everything I need to know about Archie Miller..... PUMPED!!

The only one that wouldn't be taking a risk on was Donovan. Everyone else has risk involved. As for young guys, it's important to get feedback from their peers. Not sure any young coach is a well regarded as Archie Miller. He's proven his chops as a recruiter and he's CONSISTENTLY done more with less, while at Dayton. He has made 4 straight NCAA tournaments (Dayton has only made 1 in the previous 9 seasons), won 2 straight A-10 regular season championships, 2017 A-10 Coach of the Year, made an Elite 8........ this is a homerun hire. Crean's biggest knock was consistency... This won't be an issue with Archie. Both my head and my gut tells me that Archie Miller is going to restore us to elite status within the next 2 seasons. Give this young man a chance!

Archie is under 40 years old and universally regarded as a budding superstar amongst his peers. Honestly ask yourself this question: Who has a higher ceiling in regards to recruiting? Gregg Marshall or Archie Miller.?
-
We basically just hired an under 40 Sean Miller......I'm stoked! Welcome to Mecca, Archie!
-
Awful example in Kevin Ollie. His championship roster was made up exclusively of the legendary Coach Calhoun's players. Since then??? Yeah.. major mistake by UConn. They have been awful since.

Donovan - 99.9999% Bennett - 0.0001% Alford - -100%
-
Beautiful.

Nailed it.... Sean Miller has knocked on the door to the final four 4 times. He has a .752 career win percentage!!!!! He wins and wins big. Kudos for comparing his career arch to Roy Williams and Bill Self. It's nearly identical. He WILL break through eventually and win a title or 2. He's not that old.
-
I don't get it man. Brad Stevens teams were defensive juggernauts and had decent offenses. Bennett has had a top 5 offense and defense in the same season. He won the ACC 2 years in a row.....AT VIRGINIA!!! He's won an ACC tournament... he's made it past the sweet 16..... his teams are smart and consistently in position to make a run. Imagine him getting the kids in Indiana that we let get away (Guy, McIntosh, Neese, etc.). Now if he's able to sprinkle in the zeller, yogi, Wilkes-types, that WILL come around again, then we are a perennial contender. I prefer Donovan but I'd be overjoyed with Bennett. He checks all of my boxes. Edit: not saying he's Brad Stevens by any means but he has many of his qualities.

I didn't mean it to come across as angry with you at all. Believe me, if I had someone I believed to be a legit source, I'd share the same info. I'm just trying to ingest everything we've been given and make my own logical deductions.

In regards to Dakich and this BS narrative that we need an IU guy as head coach. I'm gonna list a few names and let's see if there's been an overwhelming precedent set. Bob Knight Coach K John Wooden John Calipari Rick Pitino Billy Donovan Bill Self Brad Stevens Sean Miller Which one of these great coaches were previously affiliated with their respective universities? Indiana doesn't need an "IU guy". They need a guy with proven ability, that can appreciate the tradition and history, while at the same time stand outside of Bob Knight's shadow. Kids/recruits were tadpoles while Alford was at IU. Anyone who thinks Alford is going to come in and lock the state's top players down, is fooling themselves. Ask these recruits whether they want to play for Tom Izzo, Coach K, Calipari, Pitino, or..............Steve Alford? That's a no brainer. If we really want to lock this state down, we need to hire Billy Donovan or Brad Stevens.

THANK YOU!!!

First time someone told me I have a great mind. Lol. Thanks

Sorry Treesh but something isn't adding up. Multiple insiders, who have a history of being well sourced, confirm that there have been multiple meetings between IU and Donovan (his camp). If he has absolutely zero interest in coaching college again, then why would you entertain back channel feelers, let alone allow the school to waste energy and resources on furthering negotiations. Sorry I'm just trying to deduce this down to where it makes sense. As far as I see it, there are two possibilities with these rumors. 1.) multiple sources, who have been right multiple times in the past, have all of a sudden gotten identical yet bad info. 2.) Treesh's source isn't really a source and national media is being fed typical coach speak. I honestly think Billy Donovan will be the next coach. I believe all this craziness is just a ploy to misdirect everyone from knowing the truth. Way too much smoke to not have fire. As far as I see it, we have 2 real options, based off of what info we've been given. 1.) Donovan 2.) Alford (dear god NOOOO!!!!)

Indiana Mr. Basketball 5 Star recruit McDonalds All American Sheesh your standards are stringent bruh!

I just got into a drawn out debate with Kent Sterling, as to why I think Fife would be the wrong hire. I didn't agree with him, and provided valid arguments, so naturally I'm a "loud uninformed clown." Funny that's coming from someone in the media.
