  1. So he enjoys being a spectator?
  2. And guaranteed job security.
  3. Same here. Not concerned with the Alford rumors one bit. If I were Glass and wanted to misdirect the fanbase for awhile until I could announce Donovan, I'd let that clown Dakich run with the Alford theory. If Glass hires Alford, his pressed was just one gigantic lie. Alford has NEVER proven that he can win multiple conf championships, and routinely contend for national championships. Not happening. Can't wait for Donovan to be announced. Dakich is literally going to have to block every single IU fan on Twitter.
  4. Seriously....kids in Indiana aren't singing the Steve Alford song. Good coaches win consistently, no matter where they are. Period. Alford lost 17 games last year and like Crean, has done plenty of losing with NBA talent on his rosters. This year's success can almost entirely be attributed to having Lonzo Ball. A freshman pg who is being compared as a bigger and better scoring Jason Kidd. The notion that guys will do better if given the chance at an elite program is bs. We need not look any further than Tom Crean. His inconsistency didn't improve by taking a much higher profile job. If Alford was an elite coach, we'd have seen it long ago.
  5. Very common with a new coach coming in. Bob Knight even did this. Priller graduates, Hartman graduates, Gelon gets told he will never see the floor and decides to transfer. There are many ways that we can make it work. Hell if Blackmon, Bryant, OG and Hartman wanted to come back, I'd guarantee you that it would happen and none of us would complain one bit at how it was done.
  6. Hartman graduates, Gelon and Priller shown the door. Done.
  7. Bc he was getting intel (correct btw) that Alford's camp had been practically begging IU for the job.
  8. If Billy Donovan is our next coach, I wouldn't be surprised if we kept everyone, including OG. Obviously that would be a long shot, for OG to come back but try and consider the momentum that would be caused from his hire. It'd be hard to pass the opportunity up.
  9. Verdell Jones spitting that truth on Twitter.
  10. Lol. Huffington Post being a legit news organization. That is RICH!
  11. He has to say what he said or similar. Do you really think any sitting coach for one team is going to say anything about taking another job? Especially while the season is winding down and they're firmly in the playoffs. Billy is our next coach.
  12. All this nonsense from rival media is due to fear of inadequacy. Deep down they know that we are a hibernating power. They realize that with the right hire we are going to match or possibly surpass them in success. Therefore they have to double down on the things that have helped convince them they are better than us. Expect a lot of this until we announce Donovan.
  13. The NBA is irrefutably the highest level of basketball. College has become unbearable to watch with the way the officials slow the game down. The NBA is at its highest level since the Jordan years. Great defense and even better offense. Best players by a LONG shot and great coaches. There is a reason that the NBA is a growing global brand. It's bc it's the highest level of basketball being played on planet earth.
  14. Drag Me To Hell
  15. Nightmare on E. 17th St.
  16. It depends on who you consider credible.
  17. I thought you said "dab". Made more sense.
  18. Duke is not getting Stevens. That job will go to one of K's assistants that he's groomed. Brad Stevens has a long career ahead of him in the NBA.
  19. Hands down the most candid and honest Glass has been. He gave me a ton of confidence and excitement. I fully expect our next coach to be a grand slam (Donovan). Looking forward to having a united fan base for once in my life. Edit: for those of you who think Glass is actually going to hire an Indiana guy from Indiana, I think you should reconsider your position. He is just saying that to appease the faction of alumni who would like him to go in that direction. No way Fife or Alford are the next coach. He all but eliminated them with other comments. IU fans will be getting a healthy dose of the D......Billy D that is.
  20. Replace "this site" with "this state" and you are spot on. Donovan is a grand slam hire.
  21. Buckner said on a radio show 2 years ago that he "knew for a fact that Donovan and Indiana had discussions." Also mentioned that it was the Donovan camp that reached out initially. So at one point in time, Billy Donovan wanted the Indiana job. Not sure about the rumors now but past interest, paired with changes in his current situation, make it much easier for me to believe there is a chance.
