  1. You and I are on the same page. Securing the Garland commitment is huge. Something nobody is mentioning but I feel can't be overlooked is Vandy being a real threat. Garland commits to Vandy, Shittu could follow shortly after. Gotta get Garland, otherwise Langford becomes harder to secure. My prediction is that Garland stays in Nashville and we win a dogfight for Romeo in the spring.
  2. The momentum will be insane if we land both of these guys. We will likely end with the #1 or #2 recruiting class, in the nation, in Archie's first recruiting cycle. A recruiting cycle that he got a late start on. We are going to have 2018 5* kids that want to come to IU and won't be able to bc others jumped first.
  3. I feel like the Garland announcement is our biggest piece left, in regards to landing Romeo. So far we've done everything right to earn his commitment. I feel like a Garland commitment would be the final push he needs to announce for us.
  4. He looked really really good in limited minutes. Almost posterized 2 other players. Still looks massive compared to other pros.
  5. Very good point.
  6. The fact Archie was in New Albany today speaks volumes. I was telling myself that we will see who is sweating and who's sleeping well by how active they are on the recruiting trail, immediately after news breaks. This isn't an NCAA Investigation where the guilty can just deny and likely get away with it, or worst case, lose their jobs. This is a criminal case. Chuck Persons is looking at possibly 80 years!!!!! I cannot imagine a guilty party being in the proper headspace to go out crootin..... Tom Crean stock has never been so high.... seriously.
  7. I feel pretty good about our current staff. My only concern is that Ed Schilling is tied to Adidas and has recruited well the past few years. This is going to cause the landscape of CBB to be re-graded. Hopefully it levels the playing field. I'll be shocked if Calipari, Boeheim, and possibly Coach K, aren't tied to any of this.
  8. Same here. The combo of Schilling and having the confidence that no staff is going to outwork ours, on our own turf, causes me to feel really strong about the Brooks recruitment. Everything I've heard in town is that IU is in the drivers seat.
  9. Can anyone help me find a parking pass? I've got my tickets.
  10. You've basically nailed my position on the matter. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  11. A bench wasn't getting them past Cleveland in the east. They need to draft stars like GS and then add to the bench. This is if we want to talk about winning championships. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  12. Bc they've consistently played well enough to make the playoffs and avoid a pick high enough to land a legitimate franchise player/difference maker. I'd like to see them perform awfully the next few years, so we can draft like GS Minnesota. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  13. I normally hate that but in this particular case I think it works in our favor. This staff needs as much time as possible to make up as much ground as possible. This scenario at least gives us more time to sink our teeth in deeper. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  14. Looked through the comments on his twitter post, announcing his top 6.... it's OVERWHELMINGLY flooded by IU fans. I remember Troy Williams mentioning this type of thing influencing his decision to attend IU. These things, as silly as they seem on the surface, actually make a difference. I'm encouraged that he hasn't visited Bloomington with the new staff. If we can get an OV out of him, I will like our chances. We are definitely trending upward and he will feel it, if we can get him on campus. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  15. Excited about next year's team. Mainly bc we will have Colin and Rojo back. We won't be world beaters but I'm confident that I'll actually enjoy the product on the floor. I may even be able to scale back on my bourbon whiskey consumption. Wishful thinking, I know.
  16. Identical scenario here bro.
  17. I personally disagree. If that's actually the case then the football team needs to get the stripes off the helmets. As long as the actual candy striped pants don't change, then you aren't cheapening their prestige one bit.
  18. Do you take a college advisors word, in regards to what will best prepare you for a potential job, or an owner/executive of the actual company you may be working for? Asking for a friend.
  19. I'd prefer that we kept the name off the back of the jerseys but I would love to see us incorporate the candy stripes into the game uniform, similarly to what we did in the Kansas/Maryland games. Much like what Kentucky does with the checkered sides of the uniform. I think it looks sharp and would add a tasteful touch to our more traditional uniform. Our uniforms have changed throughout our history but leaving the names off the back has gone back since our inception. I prefer to leave such traditions intact. Anything that has precedent of change or improvement, is welcomed in this camp.
  20. Archie is going to outwork every single coach trying to come into our backyard. I have zero doubts about that.
  21. You honestly think 15-17 year old kids give two craps about Indiana's past culture? I think you may be overlooking that aspect. How much does an "Indiana guy" REALLY help convince these young kids who likely think the greatest Indiana player ever is Zeller or Oladipo? Personally, I want the coaches that Archie Miller wants on his staff. I'm 100% behind this coach and the decisions he makes, until he proves to me over a 2-3 year period, that it's wrong.
