Diarra now getting the Dawson Garcia treatment. Shouts out UGA fans and has received 14 replies. All IU.

jk34 reacted to Class of '66 Old Fart in (2020) SG Trey Galloway To IU
Culver doing a lot of traveling this upcoming season so if you would like to see Galloway play in person this might be your chance.
The schedule on the school website isn’t finalized yet but looks like road games vs. Zionsville, Bloomington South, Lawrence Central, Attucks, FW Wayne & North, Warsaw.

That's his point. Using a 2 or 3yr period is too small a sample size.

Well, I was projected to win the powerball jackpot this week and it didn’t happen. Why on earth would anyone base their opinions on preseason projections?

jk34 reacted to Stuhoo in 2021 General Recruiting Thread
I've said this before, but for me? By far the best 'ranking' system to use is "offer list."
For instance - I don't give a flying fig what Trey Galloway's numerical ranking is/was. When I see that he's been offered by Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, ND, Gtown, and others, and I am quite sure that he is a top tier recruit.

jk34 reacted to Old Friend in Fred Glass Retiring
Last season was the first a single one of his recruits played a minute for him here, and we had a few significant injuries. Team played better late and players who didn't fit are gone. Breathe a minute and let's avoid the "immediate satisfaction or the coach gets fired" mentality. Good gravy.

They won 6 of 8 after that losing streak Joe so maybe people did see some improvement. They were near tourney talk because they beat a number of tournament quality teams and had 0 Quad 3 or 4 losses. They lost 12 of 13 and still ended up 1st 4 out. I miss these talks DeLow

That's all well and good. I have several people that I think are wonderful, but don't post obsessively about them. It's creepy.

In his first year IU had 0 wins against ncaa tourney teams and didn’t have 1 win against a top 50 team. Best win in the B1G was 9-9 Penn St. they beat 0 of the top 6 B1G teams. IU spent 0 days in the ncaa tournament discussion.
2nd year IU had 5 wins against tourney teams
Swept final 4 participant Michigan St
3 top 20 NET wins( committee uses it so it’s important, one of those on the road) and spent the whole year in the tournament discussion.
Maybe to some that doesn’t show improvement but to others maybe it does

Fair enough. 2 very terse questions followed by IMO a defensive (can't think of a better word) response to my post that was totally made in jest. I'm not a debater on btb but consider myself a provider of info for everyone else with an occasional (albeit weak) attempt at a little humor. I probably read 99% of what is posted on btb and follow the debaters and their differing points of view and will readily 'Like' the opinions that I agree with. Oftentimes I am in agreement with the message in your posts but man, sometimes your delivery could use a little work. I guess it's the fundamental problem of trying to decipher intent and meaning of written communication vs. face-to-face communication.

jk34 reacted to Bigred3588 in (2021) PG Khristian Lander to Western Kentucky U.
Just like you’re ignoring the sources that don’t fit your narrative. The Indystar article is from July. It includes quotes from Lander himself. You can choose to believe the reporter didn’t bother asking Lander about his height if you want to, but I’m not buying it.
Anyway, I’ve said all I have to say on this topic. Lander will have top programs promising him PT and IU will be offering him an opportunity to split PT. I’m not getting my hopes up.

We will go through a ton of up and down gyrations all season (we were close, we looked pretty good, too bad so and so is hurt, we are young, one more play, that was a good win, can’t believe we lost to them, etc etc) but at the end of the year it will result in 5-7 yet again.

Yup- that’s for sure.
A 30 year old Tom Brady wouldn’t have gotten us within two touchdowns today.

Holy **** at least I don’t have to hear anymore ridiculous arguments for why Ramsey is a better option than Penix anymore.

Archie's not old school? Okay!

jk34 got a reaction from MoyeNeeded in (2021) PG Khristian Lander to Western Kentucky U.
Maybe out of necessity. At IU, he's able to recruit a completely different type player. I believe with this class we're starting to see what type of players he wants for his system. Long, athletic, high IQ guys. Agree about having depth at point, but Archie knows he has the floor general, who will be an extension of him on the floor. And he's only a sophomore. Everyone wants all these shiny 5☆ pg's, buy I just don't see any of them able to unseat RP.

jk34 reacted to MoyeNeeded in (2021) PG Khristian Lander to Western Kentucky U.
Once again...look at it thru the eyes of the 'current' highest rated PG in the 2021 class. Would he want to share time with 2 other guys playing the same position? I highly doubt it. Even if there are two on the floor together, someone is losing out on minutes, not including a shooter that could be signed by then. I believe that a senior Al and sophmore Armaan could handle the job for one season.

I agree and I think he is the most likely especially since someone from the staff went to see him yesterday.

It was poorly written. I meant we shouldn't count on landing a PG in this class.
If we do land one, I don't think we should expect them to contribute at the level Rob did while healthy, but the good news is that we shouldn't need it because we'll have an established PG on the roster, unlike last year.

I truly believe we have our "5"star pg. And we have him for 3 more years. (At least 2 more). I'd be okay with a 4 star pg. Trey and Al could be be that guy who spells RP for a year. That would also show Lander we're all in on him.

Okay, so what is it...right now.. you're pissed about? If you don't see the almost universal upgrade of IU Athletics on and off the field/court, you're intellectually dishonest.
And then of course...there's this. Speaking of standards. Although I'm pretty sure this isn't what you meant.

Snow says the top 3 are Marquette, IU, and UNC. He hasn’t outright said this, but from his comments it reads like Marquette is the leader right now. Anything can happen though. We have a legit shot here
