  1. Seems like a three person class for the November signing period, and a fourth in the spring if it's a truly high-end recruit, and if we have room. Why does this seem the most likely outcome? Because this IU staff routinely does what makes the most sense and is the highest value outcome for IU, and that's the optimum scenario! ________________________________________________________________________ Sooooo.....Maybe TJD, Keion, and Franklin/Newman for November, and add a Ramsey or Stewart, if there's room, in April. Now, if Ramsey or Stewart wanted to jump on board in November, it's gonna be time to scrap the plan in favor of a dream scenario! Sure as heck beats adding (Jeremiah) April in April.
  2. Sure seems as if Taylor will get more backfield time now.
  3. That is really not good.
  4. A bird in the hand? It would be nice if he helped to either pressure Ramsey into an early October commitment, or if Newman committed soon thereafter. And this bird in the hand is an excellent outside shooter.
  5. My cat’s breath smells like cat food.
  6. Yes. Desperately wanted to be associated with the school that would someday count Darius Garland among its legends. ;)
  7. Ahhh; the road to stardom has some unexpected detours.
  8. Alright then Mr. Gelon - you've just been transferred to State Fair Community College.
  9. Only if you can stroke the three.
  10. Well, technically, since we got the top three in-state players coming this year, the state currently belongs to IU. If we get those three next year, the state will not "once again" belong to IU, the state will belong to IU like it ... never. has. before.
  11. Keep up Brass: Three 5*s AND a high 4* (Ramsey)!
  12. From a June 17, 2018 YouTube interview: Interviewer: "...take your visits and then make your decision. Maybe in, late in the fall, or are you gonna push it? You're just gonna see how you feel or what?" Stewart: "Yeah. See how I feel. I really want to do it before my senior season starts so that I can focus on senior season." LaLu's season starts in November BTW.
  13. Well I'll be damned. And there, my friends, is the post of the day.
  14. Another way of looking at it? We are the last of his three currently scheduled OVs: September 8th - Texas Tech in Lubbock Texas: Football school during a football home game blowout cupcake weekend. September 15th - Louisville: Also home football game weekend. Ugly campus AND...In a little trouble lately if ya hadn't heard ;) September 29th - IU: All about basketball, with TJD and Keion sitting next to him and in his ear at a truly rocking Assembly Hall. Perfect.
  15. I think that Edwards is really, really good, but he was their leading scorer last year; not sure how much he will increase his total in that category. He can become a much better facilitator, but the catch with that is that last year he was sharing the ball with Mathias, VEdwards, and PJ Thompson, all knockdown 3pt shooters, and Haas at the rim. His options are so much less skilled this year. If some true unknows don't develop into legitimate scoring threats, Carsen Edwards could end up with a season like Talor Battle, DJ Newbill, or Tim Frazier when they were the only gunslingers on mediocre Penn State teams. Purdue will defend with Painter as coach (I think), but if either Edwards or Haarms misses significant time they are really screwed vis a vis depth. Let's put it this way - if Romeo or Juwan missed time we would likely insert a guy likeJerome Hunter, Al Durham, or Fitzner into the starting lineup. If Edwards or Haarms isn't in the game, Purdue is very low on options. They only have three guards on their roster that can even contemplate playing with the ball in their hands and only one non walk-on big who has ever seen the court in a D1 game.
  16. Geez...Isaiah Stewart would be a major, major event toward becoming not just a national championship contender, but above that becoming a national championship favorite.
  17. Hey all; This Florida-resident Hoosier alum has airplane tix bought for a trip to Bloomington for the February 7th home game versus Iowa. To be followed by a Friday campus & Jacobs music school tour with my high school junior, Saturday night opera at the Main Auditorium, wings at Buffalouie's, pizza at Mother Bears, etc. My quandry? Stubhub currently has little or no options for game tix for three (my 7th grader bball player/Hoosier hoops freak son is also gonna be with us). Don't mind paying fair price (and certainly above face value), but trying not to make the special occasion trip equate to a row 8 balcony seats. It's a Thursday night game - might help my odds a bit? I would gladly buy a set of four seats to get three decent ones. If anyone has an idea for this hopeful mod and infrequent Btown visitor, please PM me, Thanks!
  18. Eric Bossi had an in-depth piece on IU's potential class on Rivals (non-subscriber) today. Interesting that he still has us squarely in the mix with Ramsey, which would be spectacularly good news. In a later twitter answer, Bossi put us in the mix with Bouknight, but feels that Bouknight is likely to stay out east. The article is as follows: "The hope for Archie Miller and I’m sure all of Indiana’s fans is that at least two-thirds of that recruiting class is made up of homegrown five-star prospects Keion Brooks and Trayce Jackson-Davis. At a minimum, the Hoosiers are the clear favorite for Jackson-Davis. Not only would I be a bit surprised if the 6-foot-9 big man didn’t pick the Hoosiers, the entire recruiting world would be surprised. He starts the visit process this weekend with a trip to UCLA and we should at least pay attention to what he has to say after the visit and he’s got visits for Iowa, Michigan State, Purdue and Wake Forest set as well but I’m just having a hard time seeing any of them winning out as of today. Then there’s Brooks, whose recruitment looks to be a bit tougher to read. He’s another that I give the Hoosiers the edge for but I don’t feel quite as strongly about them being a potential leader. Like Jackson-Davis, Brooks is scheduled to visit UCLA this weekend and he’s also got others like Michigan State, Kentucky, Louisville and North Carolina to name a few in the mix. Of those, Michigan State has been strong for a while too. The Hoosiers are also involved with five-stars: Isaiah Stewart – a New York transplant who attends high school at La Porte (Ind.) La Lumiere with Brooks – and Trendon Watford, but I’m not sure I see it happening with either of them (especially if they get Jackson-Davis and Brooks). Top-35 big man Zeke Nnaji was in town over the weekend but his recruitment still appears to be wide-open but a guard is more important anyway. Rivals150 combo guard Armaan Franklin was on campus over the weekend and I see the Hoosiers battling it out with Purdue for him and I wouldn’t be surprised if the same thing ends up happening with sharp shooter Brandon Newman. Another guy I would keep an eye on is Jahmius Ramsey. The top-40 guard from Texas is likely going to wait until the spring which is good for the Hoosiers, who should have answers on all of their other spots by the time the fall ends."
  19. That's a heck of a coincidence! BUT...I choose the more obvious explanation: That in order to more accurately reflect their identity, Purdue University has chosen to rename their institution "Puredoo University". In other news, The University of Kentucky has chosen to more accurately reflect their realities by renaming themselves "The University of Scoundrels, Irrational Cheaters, and Knuckleheads"....aka USICK So there's that.
  20. Dis ain't rec league.
  21. Wow that’s too bad and a serious sea change in his plans.
  22. September 29 for IU would be nice. ;)
