  1. Plus he's so young and has so much time to develop physically. The ten months he has before the first IUBB exhibition game of his career is a lifetime for his development.
  2. Full disclosure: I hate when player comps are made based on looks. That having been said? Damn he looks like a three inch taller version of Wagler on Illinois.
  3. That's the best case scenario. The worst case scenario is "That guy Carr didn't help much at all!" lol
  4. If anyone is bored and goes back to read that thread, for better and for worse it is a banger.
  5. Here's some good news for you - games that matter with IU get me super happy/excited now that I'm becoming an old sucker.[sorry Dave-you too :)] They used to stress me out to no end. Therefore, you are young.
  6. This is a good group of fellow Hoosiers. Young and missing their only impact big, but so, so easy to root for. If they all stay at IU, Caffey, Beaumont. Zania, and Maya + the high end additions on the way are going to be a national contender. Mark this post and mark my words.
  7. If they go beyond 68 teams they might as well just make it like high school state tournaments: every single team makes it and tries to work their way out of districts.
  8. I think the point Pagoda was making is that Dolson's hands were tied until his Cignetti capital gave him the authority to dump Woody and start over with a Dolson-approved staff.
  9. Won the second half by 14! Cleaned up the turnovers, defended, and mud-stomped them down the stretch. A tale of two halves; one played terribly, followed by a completely excellent half.
  10. 72-65 good gals. Winning the second half by eleven.
  11. Only four second half turnovers so far. The shooting has cooled off but they are playing much better.
  12. Two competing thoughts: A team that shoots 7-13 from three yet is down by four and only scores 30 in the half is insane. A team that turns it over 14 times in a half and is only down four is insane.
  13. UNT also lost their very accomplished QB, and many of their key players to OK State
  14. I know Lunardi sux but for full disclosure, even after last night, here's what he says about IUBB currently: News around the bubble: New Mexico survives its loss at Nevada thanks to USC's lopsided loss at UCLA. Indiana survives its loss to Northwestern, for now, because we still need 68 teams in the field.
  15. Great post. Your post highlights why in part, so many of us are screaming to see more of Sisley. He's a mistake-prone freshman, but he's our only glimpse of the future on a team that isn't going anywhere.
  16. No it's not. The basketball program is depressing. But being an IU sports fan and IU alum is the best it has ever been, and that includes compared to when RMK was in his prime.
  17. I did a little scan of the details; Indiana Basketball and Nebraska Football are remarkably similar: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nebraska_Cornhuskers_football Discuss
  18. I firmly believe that we could win a game, or even two in the B1G tournament. I also firmly believe that if we played Michigan 20 times, we would lose at least 19, and probably all 20.
  19. I call bullshirt that Devries initiated this. Entirely possible that Devries agreed that this was a good idea, but Carr says he had zero prior relationship with Devries. Carr and and Dolson are fellow members of the fraternity of Bob Knight IU student managers. Dolson and Carr clearly have a long-standing pre-existing relationship, and to me this is clearly a Dolson initiative.
  20. I very strongly suspect that this came together two weeks ago because after 2/3 of this season, Dolson has recognized that the roster construction strategies by Devries are not working. And so he took a proactive step to do something about it.
  21. It is encouraging that Dolson has immediately recognized a problem, and that 2/3 of the way through season one, he has taken a real step to change the narrative. Carr makes the salient point that this year's team has had basically the exact same roster building strategy that Woodson used, and that it is largely a losing strategy.
  22. At the risk of getting tangentially off-topic, even with a 'meh' basketball team I will be just fine and a very happy Hoosier fan. It's because due to the combination of decades of less than successful basketball and a now historically incredible football team, my focus has changed. Much like basketball used to be the headliner for my IU sports focus and football was something I watched and hoped for a good moment or a good giggle? Now my IU sports focus has been reversed, only with a dramatic difference: Before the past two years, I was focused on a moderately/not successful and extremely frustrating basketball team, and I tolerated an unimaginably bad football team. Now? I am focused on an extraordinarily, unimaginably successful football team, and I tolerate a meh basketball team. That's a fantastic upgrade for my Indiana University fandom.
  23. Tonight he did poopy. (I apologize for the above inappropriate language word)
