"Time to get to work(?!!?)" That loser Tom Brady just dun pissed off Dan Dakich with his cliched social media pabulum. As a Dakich disciple, I'm thinking this Brady fella will never amount to anything.

To be a young multi-millionaire in the greatest city on the planet? The football will be fine - teams tend to come and go as better and not better, and players change teams every now and then. But not waking up every morning in Phoenix (sorry AZ Hoosier) or Jacksonville-downtown activity zero as a 23 year old is a wonderful thing. This is a pretty sweet scenario for Omar Cooper.

Started as a true freshman on a Curt Cignetti team? Extremely notable. Methinks Sam Simpson is a dude.
-
Biggest surprise of the night? With only two O lineman out, one of the starters was true freshman Sam Simpson, three star 900+ ranked no name O guard from the state of Wisconsin. Khobie and Turbo were excellent. Shifty and with burst. With Gandy and Harris out, Bell played with the 1’s over Williams. Bell had two big penalties. Tyler Morris didn’t start in the slot (Bond did) but Tyler looked like an ultra-confident veteran. Finally… Tobi is FAST.

IUFB Recruiting and Transfer Portal Updates
Stuhoo replied to Lebowski's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
As crazy as it sounds, this weekend there’s a remote possibility that we could lock up two of the top ten plate in the 2027 class; 5*s Sales and Brewster will both be on campus… again. -

Samet Yigitoglu IS A HOOSIER!

Yiggy; I like the cut of your jib. -
Daley is an incredible bargain if it's an ACL; a major injury that can be completely good after a year. Waiting one year for a guy that might have been a borderline 1st/second round pick is great value. Sorry Mikhail, but if I'm a GM and I have a choice in the 7th round of Kamara or Daley? I'm going Daley every day-ley.
-
1976. I also suppose there were many more rounds of draft back then.
-
100% Looks like Mendoza, Ponds, Cooper, Coogan, Fisher, Sarratt, Black for sure, and reasonably likely Hemby, Moore. That's nine. The record for IU is seven.
-
Then if I'm Hoover I'm tucking the ball and taking off running on every play. "Fast, not physical, relentless."
-
Highly doubt that, unless Cig has advance notice that the 1st pick will be at exactly 8:05. Ain't no way Cig has a listed 8:00 start time on his schedule, but waits until whenever the talking heads decide it is time for an event related to 'not this year'. More likely to me that they start the game and then show Fernando being picked during a timeout.

Thought we'd put a separate thread in play for tonight's spring game. Key 'first look' points of interest for me? Tyler Cherry as the QB2 With Becker out (hamstring) who is the WR5 that bumps into a rotation role - Chandler, Bond, or Kendrick. Third LB Fourth DT behind Tyrique, Mario, and Hjelle. With two starting OL out (Smith and Lynch) who are the backups who start. Great to see this train back in motion and ready to run over any and all.

Transfer Portal w/IU Interest

If I squint hard enough, I can see how Sherrell is a better get than FloryCory. If I squint really, really hard, I still cannot see Lindsay or Harris being a better get than Haralson. -
(2027) DL Jalen Brewster (5*) to TTU

Oooohhhhh boy!!!!! And for Little 500 weekend. Puncher's chance at something pretty special here. -

Agreed. They tried to do that with Woody by bringing in Matta from day one. The difference is that Woody shunned Matta's advice and Devries is apparently smart enough to rely on Carr's expertise. So I would say that not bringing in a guy like Carr from the get-go is a bad decision ... that was corrected.

So he built a mediocre roster on the quick last year, and took necessary steps to get better and build an excellent roster this year? Seems like a mature, effective, grown-@$$ man move to me.
-
If he played well, would @WayneFleekHoosier change his name to WayneSheekHoosier? im game with this possibility in play.

Were you in high school gym class together?

UK adds unranked freshman point guard Zyon Hawthorne , little brother of redshirt freshman Brandon Hawthorne to its roster. Kentucky is now up to nine players, none of which have ever been all that successful at the division one level.

We keep getting a good discussion going in this thread which naturally leads to roster use and minutes projections. I am sympathetic and empathetic to those good souls who are regularly veering this thread in that direction. But cut it out! -
Looks like UF will have four starters plus Urban Klavzar and Isaiah Brown returning. That's six of their top seven from a team that won the SEC by three games. Wow.
