Seems like the type of player our staff will love. But we will probably target Orme as a similar type player with less fanfare.

I'm a little surprised too but this time last year the portal was already open IIRC and this year it doesn't open until April 7. I think players good enough to field a competitive market are mainly the only ones with much incentive to announce their intentions just yet. Most of our potential transfers didn't even get much, if any, new tape to put out. If they announce now, it's pretty obvious they're being pushed out. IMO could be back channeling now to figure out where they're going... if they can find a coach willing to buy the idea they just need a different opportunity, instead of just seeing them getting pushed out, is what I speculate they're doing. Don't a lot of players enter the portal and never end up getting another opportunity? Or maybe we get a bunch of announcements this afternoon, lol -
Twitter and social media all over TKR this morning. Fans are finally realizing what we knew all along -- he gets away with a TON of dirty sh*t. And he's a flopper, too.

Interesting.. He avg 24p 5a the last 12 games... his team sucked. I wonder why he ended up at Longwood last year, instead of WVU? Obviously, one aspect, was playing time-- shots, usage. The "connection" could be a good thing, could be a bad thing. Listed at 7lbs heavier on SJSUs roster vs Drakes. We are significantly close to home than a fair amount of schools. -

Arkansas’ Bonnie Deas plans to enter the transfer portal, her representative @chrispongrass of Lighthouse Sports told @On3. The 5-9 freshman averaged 10.2 ppg, 9 rpg, 2.6 apg and 1.5 spg this season. Pretty good stat line for a 5'9" player. -

Kyle could very easily move into the Top 75 all time in HR this year, as well. Cool stuff -
I know we were connected to him at some point last year. Don’t know if that still remains

I mean, they’ve reached out,” he said. “As of right now, no decisions have been made. This is where I want to be, at Logan-Rogersville, but time comes where a decision has to be made. It might happen, but this is where I want to be, (with) my guys.”

I have the exact same feelings about Archie's senior night disconnect, and it wasn't just with Archie-hater DeVonte Green.

The AI surely is getting that from the Daily Hoosier article you mention and is simply not smart enough to distinguish that it's not a current article. -

Trying to figure out why the AI engine has us with interest on Ortiz. Looks like the Daily Hoosier says we gave him a sniff before last season and he had a very good year in JUCO, but I don't see any basis for current interest. -

Kyle's last two year avg-- 47HR 118RBI .244/.365/.525 He sits on 340 career bombs as of now... he turned 33 at the beginning of March. The only thing stopping him from 500 career is health... he only played 8 games defensively last season and that could significantly impact his ability later on to keep the bat in tact. Using "heavy DHers" of the past... Edgar Martinez played 8 full seasons after the age of 32 and hit 218 HR during that time. David Ortiz-- 7.5 season after the age of 32-- 252 HR during that time... Frank Thomas played 5 seasons worth after the age of 32-- 177HRs Nelson Cruz 9 Full seasons- 307 HR Edwin Encarnación 4.5 Seasons- 156 HR Let's take the average of those 5 guys.... that's 6.8 more full seasons--- and at Kyle's current HR rate-- He can EASILY hit 200 HR, that's not even close to a stretch. Personally, I think we could see him hit 550. We are taking HOF at 500+ -

From AI: The following players have been linked to Indiana as potential additions for the 2026-27 roster: Colby Garland (PG, San Jose State): A Third Team All-Mountain West selection who averaged 20.3 points and 4.6 assists. He has a direct connection to IU head coach Darian DeVries and is expected to enter the portal when it opens on April 7. Stefan Vaaks (G, Providence): A 6-foot-7 freshman guard with three years of eligibility remaining. He is reportedly "firmly on the Indiana radar" after leading his team with 91 made three-pointers (35% from deep). Jake Fiegen (G, Cornell): A guard with one year of eligibility left whom Indiana is currently "looking into" to bolster backcourt depth. Yohandry Ortiz (G, Miles College): A high-scoring guard who averaged 24 points per game at the JUCO level last season. Reports indicate IU has expressed significant interest in his playmaking ability. The Daily Hoosier +4 Indiana's Roster Situation and Needs Head coach Darian DeVries has emphasized a critical need for Big Ten size, physicality, and depth following the 2025-26 season. The Hoosiers are expected to replace every starter from their final game, including key frontcourt and backcourt pieces. Team Players Eligible To Return: Seven scholarship players Nick Dorn , Trent Sisley , Jasai Miles , Jason Drake , Josh Harris , Aleksa Ristic , and Andrej Acimovic . Incoming Freshmen: Indiana has signed a top-20 recruiting class featuring 4-star prospects Vaughn Karvala (SF), Trevor Manhertz (SF), and Prince-Alexander Moody (CG). - Today

does seem like a day to hear some names. nothing that'll be too spicy though. Dorn is probably the one i'd like to keep with Sisley. Not sure I care about any of the others.
