And it's an IU sweep. After a spirited effort from his relatively small-but-talented crew, Indiana coach Ray Looze was named CSCAA Coach of the Year for 2018 men’s NCAAs. Looze’s team far outperformed expectations, ranking 5th in our Power Ranks before the meet but carrying the points lead for Thursday and Saturday before ultimately finishing 3rd. IU won both breaststrokes, courtesy of Ian Finnerty, who broke the American record with the first sub-50-second breaststroke in history. He came back to win the 200 in a nailbiter. (IU has now swept both the men’s and women’s breaststroke titles after Lilly King‘s swims last week). IU also opened the meet with the first American record of the week when Blake Pieroni led off the 800 free relay in 1:29.63, the first sub-1:30 swim in history. Finnerty and Pieroni joined Mohamed Samy and Vini Lanza to win the 400 medley relay in 3:01.07, besting a crowd of tough programs. IU finished 3rd with just 9 individual scorers. JOHANSEN WINS DIVING COACH OF THE YEAR Indiana swept the coaches of the year, with Drew Johansen being named Diving Coach of the Year. His diving crew accrued 98 points, including a 1-meter title from Michael Hixon. Hixon was also 3rd on 3-meter. James Connor was 3rd on 1-meter and 5th on 3-meter, while Andrew Capobianco took 11th on 1-meter, 8th on 3-meter and 3rd on Platform.

Okay my friend, I am here to help: Deep breath; you can still watch the game. Have a beverage poured - scotch rocks preferably. Keep composure - one of these dirt factories will win. Nova will be waiting... patience. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

10+ None of those teams are of the caliber of Duke or Villanova (and I suppose even Kansas). Michigan is close because they are peaking. Cincy may have been close, but Loyola played a Kansas St team who just happened to beat them a week ago. It doesn't translate to beating Cincinnati. I root for the underdog as much as anyone else. But, and I hate saying it, they just don't have the horses. If they make me eat crow I'll gladly take a heaping serving of it with more crow on the side. And you can plaster my post all over this thread [emoji846]. On a side note, I would love to see Kansas get crushed tomorrow with a terrible lack of coaching from Bill himSelf. I think they are number three in the race for Romeo, but they're still our competitors. And they should fail. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

What a great story—Loyola (not Northwestern) in the Final Four! Not the Chicago school that was expected to contend to start the year. Inspiring story and it is always great to have an Underdog to root for in the tourney now that my bracket is busted! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

What an amazing run. Loyola Chicago is in the Final Four. Can they complete the journey? I wouldn’t be surprised. I’m ready for this next game

If they had any real information it would be out in the public. I think that is fairly obvious. I don't have an issue with how they make their money. It's a really good hustle actually. But if you are going to hold yourself out as an "expert", you better expect to have that questioned. Whether or not there is a model is irrelevant. No one cares how they internally rank themselves after the fact. Everyone just looks at their predictions on unsigned recruits, which is a hodgepodge of long held predictions and last second changes.

Those are just a few. There's a few others around the state that could still jump to Big Ten level by the time they graduate as well. This class has a chance to be absolutely loaded if they keep developing.

Except they completely misrepresent the 247 expert rankings model that rewards picks the longer they’ve been held. I get everyone likes to take swipes at the recruiting experts, but 1) they’re just a bunch of college hoops junkies like everyone here who found a way to get paid for their addiction and 2) they do usually have way more information than the general population Sounds like this guy has been reading the board and translating it to articles haha. Beilein's name came up pretty regularly on IU boards when Davis replacements were discussed.

I agree with you...somewhat. Were our fans screaming for Beilein in '06? The one's who understood what he had done to resuscitate a stone dead UWV while maintaining a perfectly clean program might well have been. Most didn't understand. But those involved in the hiring decision did. And instead opted for a guy who was under sanctions. And they knew that when they hired him. Nobody was screaming for Sampson either. The Administration wasn't somehow tied to him. They could have hired anyone. Their job was to get it right. If they didn't have the foresight to hire Beilein, fine, but it didn't require foresight to not hire a Coach who was dirty.

You could replace Loyola Chicago with at least 10 other teams. I'm not sure there's a basketball program in the country with as much potential that's been as badly managed for as long as ours has.

Keep in mind, the title and game forfeitures and 4 year postseason ban are all just for Hooker U. The punishment for being University 6 is still impending. Long story short, they’re well past screwed. Enviado desde mi iPhone utilizando BtownBanners

They had four shooters, shot 51% and had great chemistry so I can see this easily! We will have shooters next year, the guys will be more accustomed to CAM’s schemes and we will make the dance. I believe! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
