The No. 2/13-ranked Indiana University men's and women's swimming and diving teams will host the IU Invitational at the Counsilman Billingsley Aquatic Center in Bloomington, Ind. starting on Thursday, Nov. 15.
 
The three-day meet will run through Saturday, Nov. 17 and will have prelim sessions each day starting at 9:00 a.m. ET, with finals each day starting at 5:00 p.m. ET. There will be A, B and C finals for each event, with the top-24 individuals scoring points. Both A and B relays will be scored.
 
Swimming teams competing this week will be the No. 2/13 Hoosiers, No. 17/- Arizona State, No. 9/8 Louisville, No. 3/7 N.C. State and the No. 17 Purdue women's team. Competing in the diving events will be Indiana, Louisville, N.C. State and SMU.

In the 400 IM Womens “B” Finals, Bailey Andison won with the fastest time in the nation this year.  Her time in the prelims was not good enough to qualify for the “A” Finals.

Blake Pieroni becomes Indiana University's first male swimmer world champion since 1976

He barely qualified for the final of the 200 free and had to swim the final in lane 8.   But in the final, he led from start to finish.

The No. 3 Hoosier men win their 28th-straight dual-meet, beating No. 4 Michigan, 173.5-126.5!  The win is Indiana's fifth over a top-25 team and third over a top-10 squad this season!  The No. 14 IU women fought hard, but fell to No. 2 Michigan, 172-128.

Last dual meet of the season today on Senior Day in Bloomington - IU #3/11 vs #8/16 Louisville and what a way to end the season.  B1G Championships start on Feb. 27th in Iowa City.

The No. 3/11 Hoosiers sweep the No. 8/16 Louisville Cardinals on Senior Day! The Hoosier men win their 30th-straight dual meet and finish dual-meet season undefeated (8-0) for the third-straight year.

 

The Indiana men cap a great dual meet with a win in the 400 freestyle relay, as the team of Zach Apple, Mohamed Samy, Jack Franzman and Bruno Blaskovic win with a time of 2:55.12

Senior Ian Finnerty wins his third individual event of the day, touching first in the men's 200 IM with a time of 1:47.66

IU senior Bailey Andison wins the women's 200 IM on Senior Day with a time of 2:00.65

Indiana senior Jessica Parratto sweeps the diving events on Senior Day, winning the 3-meter with a NCAA Zones qualifying score of 356.33

 Hoosiers Win 200 Medley Relay Title on First Night of Big Ten Championships

The No. 17-ranked Indiana University women's swimming and diving team got the 2019 Big Ten Women's Championships off to a fast start on Wednesday night at the Counsilman Billingsley Aquatic Center in Bloomington, Ind.

After the first two events, the Hoosiers sit in second place overall with a total of 114 points. Michigan leads the way with 120, while Wisconsin, Minnesota and Ohio State are tied for third with 106 points.
 
The Hoosiers started the week off with a title, as the team of Morgan Scott, Lilly King, Christine Jensen and Shelby Koontz won the 200 medley relay with a NCAA A cut and CBAC pool record time of 1:34.71. IU has won the last two 200 medley relay championships and three of the last four. The time is also the third-fastest in Indiana history.
 
Scott got the Hoosiers off to the lead with a 35.66 backstroke leg and was followed by a blistering 50 breaststroke split from King, who touched the wall in a remarkable time of 25.36. King's time is the fastest 200 medley relay breaststroke split in history. Jensen and Koontz swam well to hold off second-place Michigan in the final two legs to secure the crown for Indiana.
 
In the 800 freestyle relay, the IU team of Maria Paula Heitmann, Noelle Peplowski, Bailey Andison and Morgan Scott took fifth overall with a time of 7:07.41.
 
The 2019 Big Ten Women's Championships continue on Thursday with the first full day of competition. The action gets underway at 11:00 a.m. ET with the prelims of the 500 freestyle, 200 IM, 50 freestyle and 1-meter dive.

The No. 17-ranked Indiana University women's swimming and diving team won a pair of titles on a stellar night at the 2019 Big Ten Women's Championships at the Counsilman Billingsley Aquatic Center on Thursday.
 
After two days of competition, the Hoosiers have taken the lead with a score of 497 points. Michigan sits in second with 436.5 points, while Ohio State is in third with a total of 434 points.
 
For the third-straight year, Indiana captured the conference crown in the 400 medley relay, winning with a Big Ten Meet record, CBAC pool record and NCAA A cut time of 3:26.30. The team of Morgan Scott, Lilly King, Christine Jensen and Shelby Koontzclaimed the fastest time in the nation in the event and the second-best time in IU history.
 
Scott leadoff the relay with a career-best time in the 100 backstroke, posting a 52.21. She was followed by King, who after setting the 200 medley relay breaststroke record on Wednesday night, broke her own breaststroke record in the 400 medley relay, splitting an astounding 55.66. King's split was nearly three seconds faster than any other breaststroke leg. Jensen and Koontz followed with solid legs of their own, giving the Hoosier the win.
 
Headlining the Hoosiers' great night with the 400 medley relay was redshirt senior Jessica Parratto, who won the Big Ten title with a CBAC record and career-best score of 366.05. Parratto was stellar throughout her list, scoring over 60 points on five dives and a 58.65 on the sixth.
 
The Big Ten crown is the fourth in Parratto's career, but the first in the 1-meter. The Dover, N.H. product won the conference title in the platform in 2015, 2017 and 2018.
 
In the B Final, Taylor Carter nearly eclipsed the career-best she set earlier in the day, placing sixth with a score of 283.45 to take 14^th overall.
 
In the 200 IM Championship Final, senior Bailey Andison led a trio of Hoosier swimmers, placing third overall with a school record, NCAA A cut and career-best time of 1:53.27. Lilly King had the best time of her career in the event, placing fourth with a mark of 1:54.93. Freshman Mackenzie Looze placed seventh with a time of 1:57.04.
 
Senior Christine Jensen won the B Final of the 200 IM, posting a career-best time of 1:55.27. Bailey Kovac took seventh in the B Final, touching in 1:58.34.
 
In the C Final, Indiana maximized its points, finishing 1-2-3 with personal-best times. Senior Laura Morley won with a time of 1:57.44, while Shelby Koontz was second in 1:57.94. Abby Kirkpatrick took third with a mark of 1:58.34.
 
Cassy Jernberg led a six-swimmer Hoosier effort in the 500 freestyle, placing eighth in the Championship final with a time of 4:41.89.
 
Indiana posted a great result in the B Final of the 500 freestyle, finishing 1-2-3-5 with career-best times. Freshman Christin Rockway won the Consolation Final with a time of 4:41.82, while Maria Paula Heitmann was second in 4:42.45. Josie Grotetouched third with a mark of 4:43.65, while Maggie Wallace was fifth in 4:44.59.
 
In the C Final, freshman Noelle Peplowski charged from sixth to finishing in a tie for first over the last 100 yards, touching with a time of 4:45.85.
 
In the B Final of the 50 freestyle, freshman Julia Wolf led three Hoosiers in the event, taking second with a career-best time of 22.53. Grace Haskett was right behind her in third, posting a time of 22.61. Laurel Eiber rounded out the IU effort, taking fifth in 22.78.
 
The 2019 Big Ten Women's Championships continue on Friday with the second morning of prelims. The action gets underway at 11:00 a.m. ET with the prelims of the 100 butterfly, 400 IM, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and 3-meter dive.

Amazing! I remember seeing her pissed last year when she didn't break 56 at the NCAA's.
