Wonderful start for Van Der Bilt

Normally would reliably root hard for a Vandy over a Texas. But I so loathe Pavia and the whole 6 year 25 year old college guy thing that I find myself absolutely wanting Texas to stomp’em.

I remember Chris Weinke, Josh Booty, the other guys who tried 11 years to make MLB then resorted to football and the umpteen missionaries who entered CFB and CBB at 25+ that I don't mind guys who at least stayed in the college setting from 18 to whatever age they are now.

You’re 100% right and that’s the common sense viewpoint because this is flat out the reality now. I just can’t get there yet. There are a lot of devils in college sports just now and for me Pavia’s one of them. Suing for JC years being dumped against eligibility? Spare me, of course they should count. And in football it’s worse. The 1st time some 25yo 6th yr growna$$ man LB busts an 18yo true freshman WR in half on a slant pattern and does a Darryl Stingley on him because that kid’s not physically ready for that yet that’s gonna be on the Jay Bilas’ of the world who’ve been advocating for this nonsense like a Pavia is somehow the real victim.

Sorry, rant over.

Penn State having a ton of trouble throwing the ball. They have a very solid running game and Allen is a big time RB, but they’re pretty one dimensional.

If PSU is playing from behind they’re screwed but they’ll be tough in a close  or really bad weather game.

Edit: OSU’s running game is also not good.

One of the under-appreciated great things about this IU team is DB’s that freaking tackle. Watching Texas’s DB’s calculating how to get a ball carrier on the ground without actually having to hit them and missing a million tackles as a result makes me love a 175lbs Ponds tackling guys all the more.

IU’s game in Happy Valley is going to be a tough one for sure.  I know…DUH.  LOL

PSU acting HC said before today’s game with OSU…”We have nothing to lose.  We know we’re better than our record.”

I predict OSU runs away from them in the 2nd half.....OSU by 14, at least!
