Josh Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 The IndyCar season officially starts today! First race of the year is at 12:30 on ABC. We have no basketball to watch...so this is what my tv will be on. I only follow this race and the Indy 500, but I'm hoping some of the posters who follow the series can help keep us updated here. These cars are so much louder now than in the previous couple years, was there a big change in the offseason? The last two years I couldn't hear them from my house, today they're so loud I have to crank up the tv with my windows open. Pole position today belongs to Will Power who broke the track record in qualifications. ccgeneral and LIHoosier 2 Quote
Parakeet Jones Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 I will have it on here too with little basketball to choose from. I am hoping Honda can be more competitive this year throughout the year like they were at the end of last season. Naturalhoosier 1 Quote
LIHoosier Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 FYI, Power fell ill and won't be in today's race. Quote
LIHoosier Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Figure I'll put this in here instead of starting another thread. Haas F1 ('Murica's team) picked up points in their 1st F1 race, finishing 6th in the Aussie GP. Quote

I recorded the race but saw who won on an alert on my phone this morning. Oh well, more time for watching basketball now. LIHoosier 1 Quote

I'd have to think about it, but Diffey, Hobbs, and Matchett may very well be my favorite in all of sports. Quote

LIHoosier Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Great article from the Indy Star about the history of IMS. http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/motor/2016/04/30/how-indianapolis-500-became-more-than-race/83247608/ Also, a cool clip of an old panel show featuring AJ Foyt and Ray Harroun. IU Bud Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 It is Fast Friday. Teams won't be holding back or testing race setups. It is all about laying that wing back and showing what they have. I like the old days when teams competed to post the fastest times of the day and changed to qualification engines to push speed over reliability for those 4 laps. I also miss the T cars that drivers would jump in to test setups and sometimes put another driver in to qualify. Now we are limited by the engines Honda and Chevy can supply and the deals needed to get more than 33 cars entered. It is still the Greatest Spectacle but it used to have so much more drama and emotion. Quote
Parakeet Jones Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 On my way home from Fast Friday. Honda looks like they might have something for Chevy this year. Sent from my LG-D850 using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
LIHoosier Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 WOW! Looks like its gonna take a 230 average just to get into the top 9. Quote
Parakeet Jones Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 The Schmidt cars have been solid today. Servia is top 9 as of now and his other two are 10 and 11. Sent from my LG-D850 using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
LIHoosier Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Way to go Hinch! Though I would've liked to see an all-American front row for the 100th 500. Josh 1 Quote
