Popular Post Stuhoo Posted February 12, 2016 Popular Post Posted February 12, 2016 In my opinion, one of the drastic improvements in the handling of this year's team has been in much clearer definition of roles. For instance: Yogi: the clear quarterback, and the go-to guy when we need a shot late in the shot clock or late in the game. Nick Z: Leadership, designated shooter. TB: Post feeds and youthful exuberance Colinn and RoJo: steady, multi-faceted glue guys Max: Older leader and first big off bench. Physical bulk on defense. Juwan and OG: Defend hard, get garbage buckets on offense. Troy: Explosive wing - the role has evolved to where he now gets yanked when he tries to do too much Burton and Niego: Team unity guys that get a little run to show the big dogs that they are playing like crap and need to pick it up. MSB: Human victory cigar. We seem to be getting away from the Jeremy Hollowell/Troy Williams point guard experiment type nonsense, and I am very, very glad. Discuss! Crimson and Cream Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Robert Johnson right now has to score. We've struggled in games where he can't score. I agree with this. He usually gets several good looks from deep each game, and he needs to knock them down. Need him to average about 10 per game the rest of the way. Quote
Crimson and Cream Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Really wish TB would get a little more respect from the refs. 3 of his 4 fouls yesterday were a complete load of crap, especially that 4th one. On the other hand, Crean really needs to learn how to deal with him being in foul trouble. He put him back in last night with 5 or 6 mins left in the 1st half I believe with 2 fouls. Not real smart. Also surprised he never was put back in the game towards the end. Didn't see enough of OG either. Max needs to play as many minutes as he can handle, he always brings good stuff to the table. Quote

Ref can't lay that one on a kid for #3 early in the half. Quote
HoosierAloha Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 I agree to an extent but we still get stretches of point forward Troy going out of conTroy (props to DukeHoosier) and commits a Troyover too often. Troy is special when working the baseline and offensive boards. I believe Bryant will be mobile enough to take a bigger 5 off the dribble but I would hold off on that another season, as well as shooting from distance. I know this has only happened a few times this season and I'm glad it appears it has stopped. This year there are more defined roles. I like how Max usually doesn't follow up a missed three with another three point attempt. I like how Z knows he's a shooter and shoots. Colin and RoJo are nice glue guys but I would like to see RoJo take that next step where he can finish at the rim. I have no idea what Troy tries to accomplish dribbling into three defenders or dribbling parallel to the baseline. His wild layups have also stopped falling. I believe a lot of this is having good leadership in Yogi, Max, and Z. We're going to miss those guys. ALASKA HOOSIER and Napleshoosier 2 Quote
