mamasa Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 DID YOU KNOW? • Sunday's matchup with Michigan will be Indiana's first home Big Ten contest of 2015-16 and the first time the Wolverines have played in Assembly Hall since Feb. 19, 2014.• The Hoosiers are taking advantage of getting to the free throw line as Indiana has made more free throws (198) than its opponents have attempted (154) and lead the Big Ten in free throws made (17th in the country) and attempts.• IU is shooting 72.0 percent from the charity stripe as a team and outscoring foes 198-101 at the free throw line.• Indiana faced seven teams that played in the postseason a year ago during non-conference play, five of those teams played in the NCAA Tournament last season, making Indiana just one of 11 programs in the power five conferences to have played five or more NCAA teams from 2015 in non-conference play.• Sophomore Tyra Buss has scored in double figures in every game this year to average 19.3 points per game (ranking 33rd nationally) to go along with 4.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.9 steals per game (leads team).• Buss ranks third in the nation in free throws made (86) and attempts (110) while shooting 78.2 percent from the charity stripe.• Amanda Cahill has achieved a double-double in each of the last two games, now totaling three on the year and nine in her career. JSHoosier Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I'll be watching. Buss is putting up the points this year, and with a larger sample size her shooting numbers are improved over last season; still not good, but improving. Hopefully that trend continues. Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote
JSHoosier Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Not even 2 minutes in and we already have one of Michigan's starters in foul trouble. mamasa 1 Quote
mamasa Posted January 3, 2016 Author Posted January 3, 2016 i like the scrappiness of the Hoosiers today Quote
JSHoosier Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Buss has had a quiet game so far and she's been called for charging twice already. Quote
JSHoosier Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Okay hold up. Michigan took out Rustofsky(?) and put in Rusofsky(?). Okay, they're just trolling people now. mamasa 1 Quote
JSHoosier Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 The ladies look bad right now. Really need Buss to step up and make her presence felt. And friggin' turnovers. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 They've had a tendency to go through extended dry spells in many of their games and it's cost them a couple of games they otherwise would have likely won. Not sure why it happens, but it does. mamasa 1 Quote
JSHoosier Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 This game is tied because of Buss. She put the ladies on her shoulders in this quarter. Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote
JSHoosier Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 That was a new one. Tyra Buss knocks away a pass, it bounces off the ref who was standing out of bounds and the play was never whistled dead. Quote
JSHoosier Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 We need someone to guard #3 on Michigan. Gassion isn't getting it done, at all. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 5 of 6 clutch free throws might just do it. Quote
JSHoosier Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 That's a W in the books. Buss put the team on her back in the 4th and defense stepped up in OT to hold on. Class of '66 Old Fart, WayneFleekHoosier and mamasa 3 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Enjoyed watching that. Admittedly sped through some possessions but I enjoyed it. We have some players that can't hit layups AT ALL. Odd. Tyra is a competitor. Her shot wasn't going so she just drove it relentlessly. A little undersized on D. mamasa 1 Quote

Tyra is a competitor. Her shot wasn't going so she just drove it relentlessly. A little undersized on D. She could've had more points but her touch was a little off. Had several close shots just bounce off the rim. Her shot definitely still needs work though. She had a pretty off ball move in the 4th. Jab stepped toward the wing then took off on a backdoor cut for a reverse layup. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
JaybobHoosier Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 There is a replay in the early morning for those that want to catch it. I have my recorder set. mamasa 1 Quote
