NCAA has denied Wisconsin's appeal and declared Wisconsin freshman Andy Van Vliet ineligible for this season.  The issue is the following:  NCAA rules state that prospective student-athletes have one year to enroll in a collegiate institution following their high school graduation or expected graduation date. Van Vliet played basketball as an amateur outside of that one-year window, which has resulted in the eligibility issue.

Tough news for Wiscy. What's the scouting report on Van Vliet? Was he expected to be a contributor?

The NCAA also wasn't happy that he repeated a year of school so a scholarship could open for him at Wisco.

Oh wait, I mean, "valued his education enough to try and do even better to go to a fine academic institution".
