Stanford Robinson's Role

Recommended Posts

The difference I saw was that his dribble was tighter and under control.

He didn't drive recklessly into the lane but  probed just deep enough to draw the defense  then made strong precise passes.

He's always been an asset on the defensive side of the ball and when he can play without the turnovers he belongs out there.

His shot?  He should NEVER EVER take a long range shot with either hand.

His shooting form is significantly improved.  Significantly.

He does not (yet) rise and fire in game situations with confidence. He may or may not get there, but to say that he should never shoot from distance is myopic, and suggests that it is impossible for him to become a more complete player.

Let's see here.. (generalizing) the fan base comes down hard on an 18 year old for breaking team rules and apparently not going to let him live it down so "he's useless and want him to transfer asap" because.. "he doesn't know what it means to wear the candy stripes". So we beat a kid into a corner and take his confidence. Then the fan base can't stand when he's in the game because he is now making mental errors due to lack of confidence and being beat into the corner.

I would like to see anyone on this board take the backlash that Stans has now and then perform under the hot lights.

How about we now collectively start showing Stan some support to help him get past this and start balling again as a better man.

I was actually trying to make a joke.Apparently a bad one.

How about until he gets it straightened out we don't need that out of him.

On the serious side there's plenty of good shooters on this team  and he's not one of them yet.

his other miss was about a five foot jump shot that didn't look good at all. I can see where somebody could say he got lucky rolls. He has alot to prove to me before I will even want him in a game at all. I am however starting to think maybe I like him more than max but not sure lol

What I'm saying is it's perception.  Someone wants to see that he got lucky rolls so they're calling it lucky rolls and not just Stan's game.  He was the one to get into the middle of the zone and made plays.

Stan should not be shooting from deep.  I would rather have take a dribble or two for a pull up jumper.  When he starts making FTs and shorter jumpers take a few deep shots.

THIS!

The ONLY way he will get better is to play through it----we already know he has it in him because he did it last year---he has to get some minutes.
