IU AD Glass lays down the law on misbehaving basketball team

Like the old saying goes, "It's too late to drain the swamp when you are *** - deep in alligators!"

 

The AD should issue policy letters for the athletes based on the University stated position.

 

The coach should then use those policies as the template for his "take charge"  meeting every season....early in the "each" year.

 

For the AD to come in and "lay down the law" is way out of the protocol for leadership in my opinion.

That is exactly what Dakich tweeted earlier. He said in his 27 years in NCAA basketball that the AD has never talked to a team. He also said its an embarrassment.

Exactly! My memory may be getting fuzzy, it's been over 15 years since I was a freshmen, and I played at a lower level than Indiana (D2), but I recall our AD addressing the team at the beginning of each season with some type of message regarding sportsmanship, expectations, wishing us luck, etc. Not long, but just to make him/herself a presence and introduce themselves. 

 

It's almost irresponsible not too. Players should know the AD of their school and where they stand on things.
