My Username says it all!

I guess a lot of it is because he is close to my age and I went to the Ky /In All Stars game in Louisville that year and he outplayed Darrel Griffith.

In those days without the Internet I didnt know much about him and living close to louisville all I heard was Dr Dunkinstein.

Smooth as silk and a scoring machine. Those fros and giant bellbottoms were pretty cool too.

Like it---cthurston! People would look at Brian Evans and think---"he's not a baller". And then he would hang 20 plus on them night after night. Really enjoyed watching him play!

I'll never forget the infamous shoulder brace he wore. As a kid that was THE definition of toughness to me as young Hoosier just learning the game.

That's the one thing I will say about Knight's teams that I miss. He may not have had the most athletic kids all of the time but he had some of the toughest --gritty---blue collar--ball players that have ever been assembled.  The secret is balancing that with the athleticism to get the truly elite teams and seasons!  Crean looks for that same quality in recruits but instead of just calling it toughness he calls it high motor or high intensity kids.
