Canada Trip

Recommended Posts

What are you execting out of our August trip to Canada? 5 games in 6 days... that is a lot of basketball and not a lot of time outside of games for coaching or improving.....

Would you be happy seeing some type of team growth if we didn't win the games... I mean it is August, the games truly mean nothing.... so is winning them important for the team? The Coach? The Players? The Fans?

This is asked based on an article I read today in my local newspaper that ended with:"We're going to go through some tough days (in Canada). I (Crean) mean we're not going over there and winning all those games. No one's walking over there saying we've got to be 5-0 to be a success..."

I don't see more than 3 wins up there. Not a big deal. There are some teams that could compete in the NCAA that we'll be playing. Looking for some growth out of our guys and wanting to see how they play together. Hopefully it brings everyone together and gives us a taste of what we'll see this season.

Growth for sure.  I am particularly interested in HMP and Devin.  I am anxious to see what they show.  It will be interesting to see who handles the ball when Yogi is out.  Troy and Stan are two guys I'm looking forward to seeing as they approach year two.

When we get into that 4th and 5th game in 6 days I'm sure we'll see some fatigue issues and sloppier play than early in the trip.  Due to the compressed nature of the schedule and the fact they are exhibitions, I am sure that CTC will play a ton of guys to avoid wearing them out.  Therefore, I'm not going to freak out over number of subs or get too caught up in our rotation while up there.  This is a great time for the staff to experiment with combinations under game conditions and I expect them to do so.

Also, I'm not giving up on some sort of streaming video.  I know nothing has been confirmed, but until it is confirmed that there is none I'm keeping hope alive.
