I'm glad the Phillies have finally decided to blow it up. It's about 2 years passed due but I'll take it. Hopefully we trade Hamels to the Cubs too.

Just heard a couple crazy Kershaw stats.

He didn't pitch with the bases loaded until late August.

His on base % (.235) was higher than opposing batters' on base % (.231).

Oh yeah I agree he's way overpaid. I'm just hoping we can trade Hamels to the Cubs and get some solid MLB-ready prospects in return.

It actually wouldn't shock me. We signed Hamels in the middle of the season, but there was that formality where we didn't actually get him. Still confused on that deal. What's your SS situation? Starlin Castro rumors are running rampant.

It was the waiver deadline. Philly pulled him back off waivers.

J.P. Crawford(Carl Crawford's cousin) is our future SS. We drafted him in the first round and everything I've seen/read says he will be an absolute stud.

We have about 600 shortstops..all beasts and Castro is probably the worst out of all of them even though he's still solid. Might be sending him to the Mets for young pitching, but I'd take Hamels for him and maybe another young guy.

I like the guy, but he's so inconsistent. He's supposed to be a hitter but didn't do anything of note this year. And who knows where his throws from short will end up. And that's if he fields it to begin with.

All of that considered along with the fact we have Crawford(who is 19) as our future at SS Id be livid if we got a SS especially Castro as the centerpiece in a trade for Hamels. Ill see if I can find the article that I read that laid out the parameters of any likely trade between us and the cubs.

If we need anything, we need outfielders. Love Revere, but Brown is so inconsistent and he's somewhat injury prone. Like you said, a deal with Castro as the centerpiece would be a HUGE mistake.
