In light of recent events-Boog, I would love to get your take on the overall recruiting board, specifically at QB, if you don't mind sharing.

I've heard that we might actually be taking two quarterbacks in the class.  I've heard that they like the Hale kid from Largo, Florida at quarterback who is coming in for a official with his teammate, Jonathan Crawford.  I really haven't heard any other names besides the Smith kid, but I do know that they are exploring the JUCO ranks, ala Cam Coffman.  Smith is a interesting option, however, you've got to wonder about his past and if he's straightened up.

 

I'm pretty sure we'll take at least one other offensive lineman, with it being someone that can play the tackle spot.  I also think we could see up to two more wideouts.  

 

At running back, I think it's Devonte Williams right now.  I'm sure other players can creep up, the Texas kid (Belmus (sp?) I believe is someone to keep an eye out for, and if that happens, he's got a brother that's a safety that is committed to Maryland that has said, he wants to play with his brother if given the oppurtunity).  Gun to my head though is Williams is the man at running back.  Chestnut is 50/50 right now.  If he's not a early qualifier, then I don't see how they bring him in then.

 

On defense, we're after a linebacker or two (anyone see the retweet from Brandon Knight on the kid from Mississippi?  Could be interesting).  In the secondary, I think they still have hopes for the Williams kid out of Indy, but I highly doubt he chooses us.  If not, they'll look at Chuck Davis again or go down in Florida.  I've heard rumblings about the Holland kid that committed to Penn State taking a visit to us.  If we get Williams, then that could really help us out.  

 

Year after year, we get on kids latte so I'm sure half of what I just said is wrong, but right now, that's what I'm hearing.

It's strange because he was suppose to be taking a official to IU sometime soon. Committing before the visit has a lot of people surprised, but that's recruiting.

Williams’ versatility was on display during his senior season at Maryland’s Bullis High School. He was a weapon both out of the backfield and lining up in the slot, rushing for 1,899 yards and 18 touchdowns on 232 carries and making 22 catches for 354 yards and 5 touchdowns. This Bullis Bulldog’s efforts didn’t go unnoticed, as he was named to the Washington Post All-Met and the Montgomery County Gazette Teams.
