Coach Johnson takes to Twitter

Recommended Posts

Camp I was just employing that fickle she-beast named Sarcasm we have all come to know and love. I'm on board with coaches accountability to the fan base, but I also agree there isn't much to be said other than, "We sucked this year, but we're doing everything we can to get better. Next year will not be a disappointment."

If they said that straight up, I would be content.

He's saying your personal review. Of your job performance which dictates your raise and overall performance. Would you hold a press conference on that with all of that info out there? No chance anyone would.

I am forced to. Why can't we hold a D1 coach more accountable than the average joe?

If Crean said straight up at a press conference, "This my fault and I take personal responsibility for letting you down. I will do everything I possibly can to help our players exceed the expectations placed on them as Hoosiers," Hoosier nation would stand up and applaud and buyout rumors would stop instantly.

Pretty sure this coaching staff is evaluated on a very obvious scale of wins and loses over 30 times a year.  Every recruit they talk to is analyzed.  They also do pre and post game press conferences and are available to the media a lot.  They are as straightforward with assessment of the games as any staff in the country.

If you think Crean and his staff have less evaluation and are held less accountable at their job than the average joe you're crazy.

He doesn't want any of this... This queer? This queer? Check 1 2.

They wouldn't, but for me it would be the first time he took some heat. I would respect that as most fans would. You're always going to have fringe fans who want a coach gone. But at least own up to something about the season. In any aspect. What could Tom Crean have done better. I'm so sick of it being on the players. When mistakes become routine, it comes from the top down, not the other way around

Not a fan of "coach" Johnson. People have asked why...I give you his own words. Shouting down the head-coach and kicking and stomping on the sidelines isn't coaching. Maybe he can read that and learn from it. I'll admit, when people make your explanations easier, it is refreshing.

If that well dries up, then I'll start to get on him.

Funny thing is, I know you said that tongue-in-cheek, but that is exactly what Matt Painter did recently.

The message board response?

"Even Matt Painter thinks Matt Painter is a failure! Get Cuonzo Martin!"

I would absolutley agree with you if Johnson understood what he is as well. Unfortunately, he does not.

Sniper 2730: "Need direct permission before taking the shot. Please advise."

KJ: "Work to get it right."

Sniper 2730: "I need clarification on that order. Do I take the shot?"

KJ: "Approach it with passion and fearlessness."

I genuinely wonder if Johnson is the best teacher of basketball we could have possibly hired when that position opened up.

To me he comes across as someone who is simply a recruiter. And a recruiter of an area that doesn't produce kids with great fundamentals, rather it produces great athletes (and not all of them great kids).

We need someone who can teach guards to pass into the paint, teach kids how to better protect the basketball, and how to develop their jump shots. Coach Johnson has helped us improve in zero areas since he was brought on staff and should not be speaking out like he did

Ok, I remember someone using this line of reasoning back on hsn. It was wrong then, it's still wrong now. It's not the same thing.

Sniper 2730: "Thank God, sir. We need some real leadership here."

CTC: "What's the status, son?"

Sniper 2730: "Well, I was overexposed for too long and had to ditch my rifle. I still have the target in sight. How would you like me to proceed?"

CTC: "It's very simple."

Sniper 2730: "I knew you would have a plan."

CTC: "I need you to use your skills, vision, toughness and grit to get the job done."

Sniper 2730: "I give up."
