Biggest Loss from Last season

Zeller, V.O., or Hulls?

I think Noah has done a decent job of replacing Zeller and probably on par with Cody's freshman year. Sheehey is a drop from Victor, but with Stan and Williams, I don't think Victor is missed the most.

I'd argue that not having the leadership and toughness of Hulls is making the biggest difference. He seemed always stepped up to make the big play or hit the big 3 when it was need the most and kept the team playing together. While he probably had the least talent of the 3, I think he was the link that this year's team is missing the most.

But man, I can't even imagine what Farrell will be like as a senior in two years.

I'll say hulls because he was able to keep the defense honest and spread out with his 3 ball. Yes oladipo and zeller were the most talented but hulls automatic 3s killed teams and allowed zeller to get more space inside because teams couldn't pack the paint.

I'm going to go with Hulls. People just looking at his shooting are being short sighted, he brought more to the team than that. He was a calming influence and just knew how to play the game, a very intelligent player. Remember how the wheels fell off against Temple when Hulls went out with injury? Remember us playing better when he came back in? It wasn't a coincidence. He brought intangibles to the court and made everyone around him better.

There's a reason Brad Stevens said Hulls was as undervalued as anybody he's seen. I've been saying it for a while, the team would sorely miss Hulls when he was gone.

JS basically said what needed to be said for me. I talked to people before the season that he will be missed the most. Shooting ability, leadership, and on-court presence is greatly missed. Temple is a great example of that. When he spoke, everyone listened. He was out there for his team, not himself. He was never selfish, and this team is selfish.

Jordan all the way, and I could argue that CWat is 2nd. This team runs, and arguably the best person in the country and the trailing three was Watford. We don't have that, and defenses collapse all the time on this offense. He was also clutch in tough game situations. Kentucky, VCU, Temple, etc.

Vic and Cody would be welcome sites on this team, but Jordan, along with Cwat, would give this team what they lack most.

Sent from my DROID4 using BtownBanners mobile app

Victor Oladipo is easily far and away the best player out of that group.

However, I think Jordan Hulls would have done wonders helping these kids. His basketball knowledge and leadership, along with three-point shooting and underrated defense, would have helped this team tremendously in my opinion.

pre·science

noun
1.
the fact of knowing something before it takes place; foreknowledge.

What's all this about 3 point foresight?

Second:

I didn't think it was possible for people to undervalue Oladipo, but here we are. [/quote]

First: It was probably a spelling error. No big deal.

Second: I don't think anyone is undervaluing Vic, but look at what we lack this year. An ultra consistent 3-point shooter (sure Yogi is 44%, but sometimes he chucks). Jordy brought that. Not to mention his leadership and IQ. Vic brought hustle and fantastic defense. I don't see very many guys not hustling and not defending thus far. Yes, Vic was far and away better at both, and he was the best player we graduated, but losing Hulls' shooting and IQ hurts us way more.

I said Jordy as well but he most certainly did not play good defense. Toward the end of last season Crean had to sub him out defense for offense. Honestly couldn't justify having him on the floor defensively after a while.

Oladipo 3PT% last year: 44.1%

Hulls 3PT% last year: 44.4%

Oladipo's basketball IQ was pretty darn good as well. As a senior, Oladipo would have provided great leadership as well.

Suddenly Jordan Hulls became Winston Churchill in people's eyes. He was a great senior leader, but Oladipo would be a great leader too as a senior.

Oladipo was by far the better all-around basketball, making this question a piece of cake.

Sure, they might have similar 3 point percentages, but look at attempts. I'm not positive, but I'd say Jordy took quite a few more. Hulls, in my mind, was way better at stretching the defense with his shooting. Also, I'm almost certain that everyone here is in agreement that Oladipo was the best overall player. No worries there. It's all just a matter of opinion. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
