Recommended Posts

Who do you guys think the starting 5 should be? should we keep the same 5? Should sheheey be a sixth man? Should gordon be a starter? If you think we should keep the 5 we have, what do you think they need to improve on? they being(will, yogi, troy, noah, JH)

I don't even remember hearing troys name against notre dame except when they announced him in the starting lineup.

that kid has tons of heart and drive, but he just needs to put the pieces together and use that energy wisely.

It should be...

Yogi PG

Evan SG

Troy SF

Devin SF

Noah PF

To me those guys are the ones that give 110% whenever they are on the floor

Sheehey 6th man; He plays best as the spark coming off the bench

Hollowell 7th; He could be worth starting if he played like he cared the whole game.

It will be the same tho because its a CTC team.

There's no point in posting my own. These are my thoughts exactly.

I feel like Crean has him on the bench for 10-15 minutes at a time. He isn't playing out of this world or anything, but he can't begin to establishva rhythm.

First post on this site:

At this point, I would say:
Yogi
Evan
Will
Noah
Luke

With Troy, Stan, Hollowell, Perea, and Davis first off the bench.

I love Troy, but he's had a hard time finding consistency in the early going. I think he could provide a big spark off the bench as a 6th man like Sheehey has done the last 3 years.
As for putting Fischer in the starting 5, I think our size inside is our biggest advantage and having 2 legitimate post players in would work out well.
Yogi and Evan is a pretty small back court but I think it's still our best option.

Swap out Evan for Jeremy and go with that.  My only concern there is there really isn't any pop coming off of the bench.  I'd even be open to swapping Devin for Jeremy and allowing Evan to keep being the pop off of the bench.

Luke should be the first big off of the bench.

I think Stan's minutes will continue to grow as the season goes on.

I'd like to see what Colin has to offer in the next two games.

IMO there really isn't much point in seeing Austin anywhere than on the bench for the rest of the season.  If he can't be Matt Rothesque from 3 point range then he doesn't really bring anything to the table.

What on earth has Hanner done to earn the starting job? Really don't get the love he gets from some IU fans

What did Jeff Howard do?

Yogi, Will, Troy, Devin, Noah

Evan, Luke, Jeremy, Stan, Hanner

Ethrington, has done nothing to show he can play at this level, passes up jumpers, thought he was a "shooter"? Maybe in 11th and 12th grade but not on D1! Give Hartman a shot, literally!

Do not get the Hanner love. If I was coach, he wouldn't see the floor. He's gotten better, but he isn't ready to play big boy basketball.

My starting five would be:

Yogi, Gordon, Sheehey, Davis, Vonleh

Troy Williams can be a nice spark off the bench, as can Stan Robinson. Hollowell may be best suited for the bench right now as well. Luke Fischer can maybe get some playing time too.

A short leash for bench guys and Davis. Bad play sits.
