Will IU Be Raising Their Hands Friday Night?

Recommended Posts

Honestly, this is a tough one for me.  I think IU is the best team, but will they play like the best team?  You just don't know about this team.  However, I can't be in the middle, and will say.......... no.  I hope I am completely wrong, but I think this team will not have a great game on Thursday or Friday.  One of those games will be a stinker.  I'm not trying to be negative, but I feel this team has a lot of growing to do, and the big stage may prove to be too much.  Plus, with the way they shot free-throws against SB, I think that will be our undoing.  I want to be completely wrong, but just a feeling I have.  What do you guys think?

I say we demolish Washington, but lose to Connecticut because of their backcourt. Noah will keep us in it, but Shabazz Napier and Ryan Boatwright will hold Yogi to few points and lead their team to a victory.

By the way, I think we're the best team here. First big test for the freshmen. Not sure they'll live up to the hype.

I'm worried about Thursday. Young players, big arena & big stage for the first time usually equals trouble. I think IU will destroy whoever they play on Friday though as they will have calmed down.

I'm leaving towards a struggle on Thursday and a dominate performance on Friday. I just hope this team can pull out the win Thursday.

I could be very wrong on this, jmho, but I don't think the big city lights effect is going to be all that much for these kids. They've spent the last several years playing in front of big crowds, tons of coaches, state tournaments, tv cameras, scouts, etc. They're used to the spotlight.

I agree they've played in front of everyone before, but college basketball is a whole different game than high school and AAU. Look at Kentucky in the first half of the MSU game. It rattles kids.

There was tons of hype on that game. No 1 vs. No 2.  This is un-ranked (AP) IU against un-ranked Washington. Yeah it's in MSG but other than that it's not really a big deal. They've had 4 games of college ball so it isn't brand new to them. Granted there will be some nerves but I don't think it will last all that long.
