puke is a good place for him if all the stuff about his dad is true. Still hate losing such an immense talent as him. He may have very well decommitted on his own along the way but it's a crime when parents use their children like that.

Anyone care to rehash the whole "behind the scenes" story with Trey Lyles? From commit to decommit and beyond would be great.

Essentially his father was driving the recruitment.  From what I was told Trey still loved IU, but his father wasn't getting what he wanted out of the deal.  Plus his dad has a "stomach churning" love affair with Nike, and with us being Adidas it didn't help.

From Trey's U-16 Basketball profile, it is clear why Trey committed to UK. Like JB2, Trey's dad is a former UK player!

Personal Notes

  • Born Trey Anthony Lyles in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, on Nov. 5, 1995, but currently lives in Camby, Ind.
  • Son of Jasenka and Thomas Lyles, has one older brother, Kyle, and two older sisters, Tanika and Kristina.
  • Father played basketball at Panola Junior College (Texas) and Kentucky, and played professionally in the NBA, CBA and Canada

In fact, the only difference between James Blackmon Sr. and Tom Lyles is that Tom Lyles may be telling just a little bit of a fib!
