Who is expected to start or play significant minutes this season, and who are the expected key scorers other than Ciezki?

And is this a year when Moren gets a frosh heavily involved- Maya?

IMO Maya will have a learning curve adapting to D-1 physical play in general let alone in the B1G.

Certainly could be, I haven't seen her play have just read the writeups reflecting (along with Ms. Basketball - IN) how good she is.

About the only question / critique I have of Moren is that, IMO, she has to start utilizing good, recruited Frosh more. Not playing them hurts recruiting down the road, and notwithstanding physicality of B1G/college, a talented scorer etc. can be integrated instead of sitting on the bench.

Ideas on who else along with Ciezski will play major minutes?

Major League Basketball and Big Ten Ready (match ups against big ten and similar opponents is going to be challenging especially overall talent and physically).

Phoenix Stotjin, Lenee Beaumont (adjusting to recovery but should be ok), Jerni Kiaku, Edessa Noyan, Shay Ciezki, Zania Socka Ngnuemen (adjusting but should be ok)

Especially Big Ten Maya Makalusky inconsistent plus physical curve and Navaeh Caffey lesser extent physical curve but learning curve

(Pick nucleus from two groups above).

Questionable Talent:  Chloe Spreen?
Faith Wiseman (big)? Sydney Fenn?          Valentyna Kadlecova? Jade Odineme?

Austin and Coach T. Moren Double Dribble 2025-2026

This is a really good listen - CTM gives more player insight than one would expect.

It is clear that Beau, Ciezski, and Zania will get all the minutes they can handle. CTM pravtically gushes about Neveah Caffey; she's definitely going to play real minutes as a freshman. The UVA transfer Noyan seems like a lock for rotation minutes, and Phoenix Stotijn seems like the sixth player that will 100% be in the rotation. Maybe Makulsky too. No mention of Wiseman or Fenn, and Spreen was talked down as player of consequence.

Makalusky will play meaningful minutes unless she just completely fizzles on physicality.  Spreen a glue player haha (some minutes but it’s going to be a long grind for her…enjoy life at IU kinda knowing her role;  not bad really)

Reported that Fenn has been in a leg/knee brace and not been practicing.  Don't know if related to last year's injury that kept her out all year or something new.  Regardless, I'm not putting much faith in her being much of a contributor.

I heard Moren say both Makalusky and Caffey are expected to contribute. This sounds like a season ./ team for which Moren is comfortable playing the incoming Frosh -- she is high on both.

This clip is definitely worth the listen -- after you get past the slow intro before Moren joins. Moren also was clearly very high on Z.

What I really, really liked hearing was Moren saying / recognizing that the team had to get more athletic and bigger, and that this team is more athletic, several players who can really push in the open floor.

Very much looking forward to seeing how this team develops over the season.
