I got mocked pretty badly for suggesting Gates a whole lot four years ago.
I’m a reasonably educated basketball fan but no savant. And anyone IU hires? I’m going to be an optimist and look at the bright w.
But I’m pretty ******* perceptive on leadership characteristics. Richard Pitino is going to succeed at a P5 school as long as he gets decent resources.

I’m right with ya. I like Gates and lil’ Richard as well. Both kinda feel like “up and comers”. You called Gates early and it’s proving prescient.
Indiana needs to figure it out one way or another.

Is May planning on playing Marquette in Chicago next year? Because if not, someone apparently is. And I sincerely hope I don’t have to warm up to Cronin.

Does not like Diet Coke.

Takes care of bathroom issues before entering a recruit’s home.

Won’t collapse on the court or proclaim that they aren’t good enough to coach in the B1G.

Understands that Cabrini Green (yes I know it doesn’t exist anymore) is not a fertile recruiting ground.

Only enjoys a glass of wine and a good cigar after winning a natty.

Shows up for every pre and post game interview and fosters a one sided relationship with his own Chuck Marlowe.

Does not become a local radio jockey who is a legend in his own mind

I'm not sold on Richard Pitino having watched alot of his games at UNM. He relies too much on talent versus team to win games and if he doesn't have the talent (ie., injuries or otherwise) he can't win. He is riding on the back of his point guard (DENT) who is amazing but once he is gone, he is in trouble. Last year he had 3x NBA caliber players in JT Toppin, Mashburn and House and wasn't able to go deep in the tourney. Just my thoughts.

Hell no on Pitino!
