I know and wasn't meant as a criticism of  your thread, rather just commenting that this is overall a weak group. Donovan? Sure. The rest? Not a lot of reason to be excited, jmo.

No worries and I get what you're saying.  I just think a second group is always kind of going to be like that.  But to be fair as well, some of the names on this least are far more successful that I would have guessed they were.  So while they are not the big names for the most part (except a few), I think they could be in a few years.  Time will tell obviously.

I have wondered that as well. I’ve gotta think it will be though. I can’t imagine us going for an assistant. There aren’t many options that aren’t on one of these two lists except the likes of Matta, Fife, Dakich, Beilein, Painter and other B1G coaches that I can’t really see leaving their schools. I don’t know that would consider any of them realistic.

Results from the 2nd poll:

Donovan is the clear leader from this bunch but less universal that I thought he would be at 81.5%

Golden is the only other candidate from this pool above 50% at 73.3%

The choice that would unite the fan base the most is Steve Alford at 9.6% approval, which means everyone would be united in hating the hire.  Even re-hiring Crean (13.0%) or hiring Callipari (16.4%) were both more approved of than Alford (9.6%).

The most divisive out of this group includes: Mark Byington (47.9%) and Rick Pitino (46.6%) hovering just under the 50% mark.
