Retro Video Games

Recommended Posts

I got all my old video game consoles and games out of storage a couple months ago and have been down a retro video game rabbit hole.   Cleaned them all up and started playing some.  NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube( my favorite), PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360.  Saw some setups and end goal is to have an area where I can display them all and have them all hooked to the same TV.  I want to get the rest of the old consoles I don’t have as well.   I was amazed at what some of those old games are worth nowadays. I have a PriceCharting App that tells you what the games are actually worth nowadays.   Needless to say I got a new hobby or hunting old retro games at Flea Markets, garage sales and other retro game places.  I don’t have any too crazy expensive but do have a few NES games I could sell on eBay for over 100 bucks .   If you have your old stuff put in storage and you have certain games you could be sitting on some old games that are worth a lot.   Most expensive NES game is worth 16,100 loose and it’s called Stadium Events if you had the box and manual it’s in the 32,000 range another one Little Samson is worth 2,200 range just the cartridge and way more with the box and manual.   If only you could find one at a garage sale. lol.    I’m glad I held on to my old stuff and didn’t trade it in back in the day for new consoles.   It’s been a fun hobby to get back into.  Any other retro game collectors?

I have N64, NES, Wii, PlayStation 2, Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox one. Dreamcast is next in my list.

You're welcome for the Wii lol.

But I agree with @Uspshoosier on the GameCube. It's my absolute favorite as well. Newest console I have though is an Xbox 360 anymore. Been playing College Hoops 2k8.

Dreamcast is definitely on my list.    Anything Gaming is in the South side flea market by 465 and they have refurbished ones for about 130 the last time I was in there

SNES games were the bomb in my day. Graduated to the PS1. Would play those RPGs for days with no sleep.

Secret of Mana? Chrono Trigger?   Chrono trigger is worth about 220 if you got it loose or 800 if you have it CIB

Back in the late 70s I was really, really good at pitfall on the Atari 2600 -- could complete the full 20 minute time and was able to get all of the gold possible except for the very last one.   Had to have a perfect run with no pauses to get it.

Was able to beat Mike Tyson on Punch-Out.  Actually got pretty easy to do so with enough practice.

But probably my two favorite games to play were Burger-Time and Bump and Jump, both on intellivision.
